Hey there. Day 1 of testing new client. All my settings were succesfully transfered, except my switch recording profile hotkeys. I have 2 microphones - one good wired studio mic and one in my wireless headset. I switch between them a lot when I need to step away from PC but keep talking. I did not find any related hotkeys in TS5 settings. Are any new hotkeys possibilities coming to TS5? This lacking feature completely kills TS5 for me.

At the moment audio profiles are not planned.

Hi everyone,
I miss the following feature in the actual beta version: The possibility to set capture, playback and hotkey profiles for a bookmarked server. I find this usefule, because some of the servers I’m on require push-to-talk, but I want only these servers to use this, so they would need a different setting profile then my other servers.

Hi there and thank you for letting me try the beta.
The one thing I’m really missing and maybe it’s just that I’m blind but I can’t seem to find audio profiles for capture and playback. I see that there is profiles for Hotkeys but not for the audio devices? In TS3 I usually have 2 profiles I switch between for a wireless headset and my desktop headset. Is this a planned feature for the new TS client?

Yeah, I am really missing those, too. Actually the ability to login with multiple identities using multiple capture profiles all from the same client accessable via tabs, was the main reason for me not to migrate my community from TS3 to Discord years ago. It is just THAT good of a feature. Any word if it is going to return in TS5?
Don’t get me wrong, all the other stuff you guys added sounds interesting as well, but if that particular feature is not there we are not moving to TS5.
Hi, I’ve been using TS3 for a really long time, and thought I could give the TS5 Beta a shot, however, I cannot seem to find the audio profiles for capture/playback like in TS3, which I’m using to broadcast music to my friends, so that kinda prevented me from using TS5.. Is there any plans on adding this feature back ?

I also miss the audio profiles… I am using TS5 like for over a year now… but playing certain games with multiple TS server connected it’s simply not possible to use TS5 in its current state.
Right now I am switching back and forth with TSÂł and TS5. But sadly I think I will revert back to TSÂł by default and stop testing the beta untill the audio profiles return.
Yes, not being able to assign and switch audio profiles with key bindings is a deal breaker. I use both external speakers, headphones and wireless headphones depending on what I’m doing and not being able to hotkey audio profiles is a no-go.
Also, using an external program to switch the “default” recording/playback device and assigning TeamSpeak to use the “default” device isn’t working or auto updating to use the new default.
OMG i cant switch my audiodevise via hotkey like in TS3 … ok so i have to install TS3 again xD
In TS3, we have audio profiles and we can select them when creating bookmarks, this feature is really useful to bring a music bot in through virtual audio cables and voicemeeter and I’m sure they had other uses for other people as well. However those profiles seem to be gone in TS6.
Is there any plan to bring them back?
The new TS6 client looks really nice, but this missing feature prevents me from moving on from TS3 sadly.

Lately I’ve been moving forward to the TS6 client because somehow the TS3 one seems to be a time bomb when I use it on windows 11, after a while my whole system become sluggish until I close the app.
Didn’t want to spend time troubleshooting this since there’s new stuff out. However, in TS6, there’s no audio profiles anymore, which I( And I assume I’m not the only one ) use to do a spotify music “bot” with voicemeeter.
Is there any plan to bring back those ?
I’m sorry your feedback got lost in the storm of the TS6 release, but I’ve forwarded the suggestion to the team and will let you know as soon as I know more.
To my knowledge, I’d say it probably won’t come back as it could cause confusion, especially for newer users, but I’ll pass it on for discussion anyway.

Hi, Thank you for the answer ! Having the audio profiles back would be best for audio bots and stuff like that. But I understand it could cause confusion for people who are not used to it.
I did however set up a TS6 server and played around with screen sharing, I can share my spotify window and it streams the audio as well. which can be quite a good workaround !
Only thing I noticed though, I cannot select “Server” as my connection mode while screen sharing, only P2P is available. Is there anything specific I need to do on the server side to support this mode ?

Currently there is only P2P available. Server side screen share is still under development.

We originally decided against reintroducing this feature because, in practice, the only consistent real-world use case was Virtual Audio Cable / music bot setups. For that specific scenario, the feature added disproportionate complexity in other areas of the client.
That said, I’m genuinely interested:
Are there additional meaningful and realistic use cases for bringing audio profiles back — beyond Virtual Audio Cable / music bot scenarios?

To be fair, that’s the only use I see. Maybe other people can chime in and add some use cases if any.
I’m now using the screen sharing to share my spotify app and it works quite well. Honestly I think if there could be a feature that allows to share the audio of a specific window just like the screen sharing does but without the video feed to keep the overhead lower, it would be good.
The audio profiles were allowing an easier use though, just connect a second time using another profile and the music would play through it. But I understand that the complexity it brings may not be a priority for now.
That being said, I guess with what’s going on with discord, you might get a wave of fresh new users expecting features like music sharing to be an easy task since I think it’s doable over there? (May need to validate this, I’ve never went on discord

We could offer the “Stream Audio Only” feature 
Maybe something we will see in the near future

Personally, I use Capture Profiles to switch audio sources quickly with just one Keybind, which is extremely convenient to me. I want to add that one of my microphones doesn’t work properly unless I use Direct Audio as Capture More. Because of that limitation and the lack of keybind options, I still use TS3 most of the time.
I think audio profiles are just practical to handle different audio devices in general.
