Question is in the title! Are URL link previews aka Oneboxes enabled in TS6 or at least toggleable? If not, is this on the roadmap for future releases?
The current behavior is below, where I do not get a link preview.

At first glance, the photo and URL seem to be in the same message, but if you look closely you can see the URL and photo’s separate timestamps. Apologies for any confusion I created, it was not intentional.
Of course, Dennis’ last sentence doesn’t make it entirely clear whether additional previews will be added in general, or whether only additional social media platforms will be added as previews. Nor does it explicitly rule out the possibility that there won’t be any additional URL previews.
I’m curious myself.
I believe the topic was brought up again internally, and if I recall correctly, the general feeling was towards introducing proper embedding support for social media links, not just for YouTube. I’m not sure if this would also include other websites or non-social media platforms.
I found a somewhat older ticket for improving embedding support, so I would definitely say that this is on our radar, but it’s not at the top of the priority list right now.
You are correct, YouTube URLs embed a player and for that reason I thought TS6 had an “all or nothing” approach for ALL URL embeds, not just limited to certain websites.
Good to know it’s on the radar. I agree that the team has far more important features and enhancements to work on (though I am likely in the minority here, I bet most folks wanted URL embeds yesterday!)
