totally agree on that. I don’t know what they were thinking, it’s a big missed opportunity in my eyes.
Ekibunnel:
Screensharing to the server is not here
That is the WHOLE point of TS6 for many of us, come on guys…
Screensharing encoding is not GPU accelerate
Is it an issue with my config or is it really missing? .-.
Screensharing “advanced” settings are not good
Capped at 10 Mbps, can’t pick x265/av1, can’t tweak encoding settings etc…
if screensharing settings are going to be like this going forward please allow “advanced” user to directly send there own stream by exposing a rtmp port
Screensharing is a blurry mess on the playback
Even at 10Mbps@5FPS the 1080p/Source stream is very blurry when watched on the TS6 client. (fullscreen or not)
I don’t know if it is due to the stream being badly encoded or because the video component of the webapp is badly managed but currently crisp visual is not possible and it make screensharing unusable.
Your current streams are very blurry because its missing hardware acceleration. With hardware acceleration your performance problems will be fixed and there are gonna be a lot of settings to tweak.
have a look here;
Like mentioned in the original announcement post, we are still working on performance improvements and hardware acceleration which will improve the quality and stability of the stream.
Also to reduce redundancy and improve resource usage, we have implemented a SFU (Selective Forwarding Unit), allowing the client to send a one encoded stream to all viewers, without doing this for each viewer as it is currently in beta the case. This improvement is already implemented and being tested by our testers.
The upcoming beta release will deliver significant performance improvements.
