Hey,
in my opinion, the best approaches I can recommend are the following:
You can get your TeamSpeak 3 Server back up and running without starting completely from scratch by doing a clean setup and only restoring the important data:
Option 1 - Reinstall with Data Transfer:
- Stop the server completely
- Create a backup (
ts3server.sqlitedb+files/folder)
(thefiles/folder contains uploads like icons, avatars, and shared files) - Download the latest server version and extract it into a new folder
- Copy your backup (
ts3server.sqlitedb+files/) into the new server folder - Start the server and verify everything
Important: Don’t mix old and new files. Please work in a clean and separate directory.
Option 2 - Tools like YatQA:
- Connect to your server using YatQA (via Query)
- Export channels, server groups, and permissions
- Start a fresh server instance
- Import the backups
Note: YatQA is not a full backup replacement, but it’s very useful for restoring structure and permissions.
This way, you should be able to restore your server without having to rebuild everything from scratch.
