Screen share shows error when selecting window / monitor source

I’ve found a regression in Beta 3.4 regarding screen sharing. In Beta 3.2, running as Admin allowed both screen and audio capture. Now in Beta 3.4, if I don’t use Admin mode, I can’t capture audio. But if I DO use Admin mode, clicking the “Live” button just plays an “Error” sound and nothing happens. It seems like Beta 3.4 has a conflict between Admin privileges and the streaming engine. Please look into this!

Hey,

we just updated our server to TS6 (Linux docker beta8), to use all the new features etc..

But i can’t start any screen share (only cam share), it just returns an TS error sound, when i try to select a window/monitor.

When i try to watch a stream from another Linux client (wayland), TS6 just crashes without error etc..

Other Windows clients also crashes, when trying to watch a Linux (wayland) client stream, but i can watch other Windows client streams (just not start non cam streams).

Disabling HW acceleration let me watch Linux client (wayland) streams.
When the Linux (wayland) clients disables HW acceleration, i can connect with HW acceleration.

My System:
Windows 10 22H2 with Windows Media features installed.
AMD RX6900XT @ 25.12.1
TS6 beta 3.4

Error log when i try to start a stream:

[2026-02-16 23:54:26.373] [error] Failed to select source id: 67712
[2026-02-16 23:54:26.373] [error] Failed to select source for capturer: WGC
[2026-02-16 23:54:26.373] [error] Failed to create DesktopCapturer

No error log when its crashes, the log just get cut off, but i got a *.dmp, where can i send this?

The Linux clients (wayland) can also not start a screenshare with audio, but this is a another issue.

Please check if you start the client as an Administrator. If you turn it off, it should be able to capture the windows/screens.

That is the issue, you’ll need to disable the admin mode

Hi, I’ve been watching this branch since first message. We have the same issue, I know about turning off admin priv, thats work etc, but do developers have in plan to fix the problem, so users can share screen via admin is on? Are the development dates known?
