Stream does not play audio // plays it on default communication device

Is adding an option to select the stream’s audio device feasible?

And somewhat related, selecting your stream’s audio source would be nice too.

I’ve been having an issue with stream audio, everyone else in the server was able to hear the sounds of the screen sharing except me.

Couldn’t find any solutions online, but after a bit of messing around in the settings, I noticed that when I changed my audio sources in TS6 to “Default”, it was auto-detecting “Oculus Virtual Audio Device” (Basically Meta’s audio driver for the Quest 2) on both playback and capture.

The weird thing is, I have my headset as default in Windows 11, so that should not have been the case.

It turns out that when opening the advanced sound settings, the Oculus device was set as the “Default communication device” (as opposed to just the “Default device” that I assigned my headset via windows basic settings). When I set the headset as both “Default Device” and “Default communication device” in the “Playback” tab, I was able to hear stream audio.

Not sure if possible, but perhaps TS6 should prioritize the “Default device” over the communication one for stream audio, as that seems to be the one that takes precedence in the Windows 11 settings.

TLDR: If you’re having trouble hearing stream audio on Windows 11, setting the “Default device” in the normal sound settings may not be enough. To ensure teamspeak 6 picks up your desired device as the default one:

  • Win + R
  • Type mmsys.cpl and press enter.
  • In the “Playback” tab, right click your desired audio output and “Set as default device”
  • Right click it again and also “Set as default communication device”.
  • Restart Teamspeak.

I’m having an issue when joining a screen share: the audio isn’t going to the correct output. I have my headset selected, but the sound is coming out of my monitor speakers.

On a TS Server, I do not receive any audio feedback from a user’s screen share. Others can but I do not. Audio settings are set for my device not “ Default Device “. Any advice ? I’m a QA but i could not find why. Ty

I’m having the same Issue. for TS6 P2P sharing stream. friends can’t hear my audio whether its applications or screens.

Disabling all other unused audio devices worked as per LeonMarcelHD. It is annoying and I will need to use others occasionally but its good to know how to fix it.

Is there a fix to this being worked on for TS6?

There is no sound in the broadcast

Hello, I would like to know why when I broadcast my screen to the server, the sound is transmitted, but when another user broadcasts their screen, there is no sound?

  • What OS is the other user using

  • is the checkbox to transmit sound enabled?

  • Please check in your windows settings that the correct ones is also set as a default communication device.

Windows OS
checkbox is checked
sound settings are set correctly

Are you the only one that has no sound or can others not hear it as well?

They can hear the sound on my broadcast, but when others broadcast, they have no sound, even though everything is fine according to the settings.

Can you please send a screenshot of the connection info view in the audio tab?
