When I am in a channel with multiple people, I have the option to tag them in the channel chat, which is normal. But when I open the server chat with a person who is on the server (whether in my own channel or in someone else’s), I can also tag the people who are in my channel, even though they can’t contribute to the conversation.
I don’t think this makes much sense, because on the one hand the mentioned people are not involved in the chat, on the other hand you don’t have the possibility to click on the tagged person to interact with them.
Addition: You can’t even tag the person you’re writing to via server chat unless they’re also in the channel with you.
