I currently don’t have any information to share about the next client release, and there won’t be a client update alongside the upcoming beta server testing. While our focus has been on getting the server files ready for the beta release, our client developers have been making steady progress behind the scenes.
What I can share is that we released an alpha update on Wednesday, which finally brings screen sharing to macOS. Also, as Leon mentioned earlier, we’ve seen a significant performance boost thanks to our implementation of hardware acceleration.
I’ll share more details about the next client update as soon as I have any. For now, there’s nothing further I can share.
For now they have already shared news (1 day ago), it is expected that there will be alpha update on Wednesday.
I think they are doing what they can and I am happy to see that they are making progress even if it takes longer than expected.
As I understand it, they released an alpha version with screenshare for macOS on Wednesday, and the beta version of the server files is supposed to come out later this week.
Great to see progress being made and with the finalized beta files dropping soon, I’m excited! Just got my server set up, so I’m all set and ready for the beta release.
As mentioned in my previous post, we were aiming for a possible beta release this week, and we’re very close. We had some discussions earlier today and decided that one final round of QA testing is needed before we move forward. This final step is important to ensure that everything runs smoothly and is ready for all participants in the beta phase.
Even if our QA signs off tomorrow or on Friday, we won’t be able to release just before the weekend. Releasing right before the weekend can be risky, especially if anything critical comes up while the team is away, so it isn’t ideal.
With that in mind, we’re now looking at next week as a possible new target for the beta release. If all goes well during our final testing, we’ll be in a good place to release the beta.
I hope the transparency is appreciated regardless. This is the kind of shift that can come with more frequent updates. I’ll keep you updated.
Yep, we appreciate the transparency, good call to not drop on the weekend.
Looking forward to it, and I hope the QA goes well! we just had to rush through a migration project here, and as a result some things slipped through the net, so take your time and let us know when you’re happy with it!
