Advanced hotkey settings like it was in TS3 - Key Press / Key Release

I’ve run into an issue with hotkey configuration in TeamSpeak 6 that feels like a bug or at least a limitation:

When playing games with friends, I often use the in-game push-to-talk voice chat to communicate with randoms in the team who are not present in the teamspeak. To avoid double audio, I had set up TeamSpeak 3 so that pressing my push-to-talk key would mute TeamSpeak (“Key Press” → toggle mute status) and releasing it would unmute (“Key Release” → toggle mute status).

In TeamSpeak 6, however, this doesn’t seem possible anymore. By default, hotkeys are only applied on “Key Release,” and there’s no way in the UI to distinguish between “Key Press” and “Key Release.” As a result, the only way I can achieve my setup is by first creating the hotkeys in TeamSpeak 3 and then using the synchronized settings in TeamSpeak 6. This is very inconvenient, especially for new users, since I basically have to tell them: “Install TeamSpeak 3 first to configure the hotkeys properly.”

Could you please look into adding full hotkey support for both “Key Press” and “Key Release” in TeamSpeak 6? It would make things a lot easier and remove the need to rely on TeamSpeak 3 as a workaround.

Thanks a lot!

If I understood correctly, then you are able to set this up by simply setting the in game voice chat button to the same as Push To Mute.

You’re right! I initially thought it wasn’t working because there was no visual indication that my mic was muted. But after testing it, everything seems to work as intended, even though the mute icon doesn’t appear, my mic is indeed muted. Thanks a lot!

While that does work for OP needs, I still like the idea of TS6 not losing the configuration options we had in TS3, even if an advanced screen view is needed so most can keep the simpler default layout.
