Alpha Testing?

  • Overall, how long have you used TeamSpeak for? (any version)

I’ve used TeamSpeak on and off for 8 years or so, on and off.

  • What OS/OS’s are you currently using?

Windows on my desktop, Mac (on Apple Silicon!) on my laptop, Linux on my old laptop and servers

  • Are you currently a server owner, an active user (but don’t run your own server), inactive, or a mixture of the prior?

I’m a rare user of TeamSpeak these days but that’s because I haven’t seen the point in trying TeamSpeak again for serious use until I could try TeamSpeak 5. I’m very excited to see what you guys bring to the table, especially since a lot of the gaming groups I sometimes play with still use TS3.

  • On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being the best), how would you score your technical knowledge on TS?

I would say a 3 - I’ve set up servers before, I’m familiar with VoIP and VoIP codecs, etc

Since 2008 TS2

A few people have asked: “how will we notify the lucky participants”?

It won’t be by email so you don’t need to check this, the team will reach out to those individuals via DM on the forums, the beta itself or on our social channels if we recognise you.

Since 2017 / 2018 and a daily user.

I work on Windows 10 . All my servers also run on Windows if you want to test it for the server versions as well.

Are you currently a server owner, an active user (but don’t run your own server), inactive, or a mixture of the prior?

Yes, I am a server owner and active user, with users who would also be willing to test.

On a scale of 1-5 (1 being low and 5 being the best), how would you score your technical knowledge on TS?

I would say 4. Because I have been involved with Teamspeak and the system behind it from the very beginning. I say 4 for the reason that I haven’t programmed much for Teamspeak yet

Optional question - If you could add something that doesn’t exist on TS currently, what would it be and why?

I would like to see the function of making channel descriptions a little more comfortable for the newcomer. For example, if you want to write thick, there is a button for that and you don’t have to type yourself. Maybe a larger emoji selection would also be cool.

2-3 Jahre nutze ich es über ein anderen Account.

Windows 10 64 Bit.

Bin Aktiv auf ein Clan Server ich selber hab aber kein Server.

4,5:

Bildschirmfreigabe, Eigene Kostenlose Server mit Domain.

  1. I’ve been using TS for 13 years, of course I’ve tried some others (ventrilo, skype, mumble, discord. I always come back to TS.

  2. I’m more often on windows 10 and sometimes on Ubuntu 20.04.

  3. I am an active user without rights on a friend’s server, and I have admins rights on another server.

  4. 2 maybe 3.

  5. Screen sharing is a feature I find useful, video sharing (webcam) can be useful too. Being able to show these activities: spotify, the game we play. A documentation to be able to make a bot. To be able to communicate with its list of friends without being necessarily connected to a server. To be able to copy an image on the web and that it is displayed in the chat.

If you could add something that doesn’t exist on TS currently, what would it be and why?
I would add screen sharing, because it can be very useful in many situations. (e.g. to help someone with technical problems on their Computer)
