Always play GIFs // Option to always be animated

Hello fellow TS users.

I have a little question :slight_smile:
I just see that i can set Gifs for my channel appearance. But sadly the gif only " do gif things" when i hover over the channel. Is there a way to get the gif always active ?

It was designed to only animate a channel banner when you hover above it.
There is no option to change.

It would be super nice if the gifs uploaded to banners could animate optionally in settings just a little food for thought.

Animated GIFs are working fine on both Channel and Server Banners. However Channel Banners only animate on hover, this is to reduce performance usage.

I understand that, and I love the feature but what I mean is gifs always playing not just on hover, and you can make this into a optional feature to enable for those who like eye candy, Discord has this option where gifs are consistently playing but you can choose to disable it in settings.

I’ll forward this to the team for discussion. A setting for it would be the compromise that works for everyone.
