I was just wondering if Server Admins in 2025, leave that option untouched or if they modify the numbers in some sort of security way, or maybe the default Teamspeak server settings are fine for the way it is.
Also I want to know if Server Admins also touch the security level…
This is more a community discussion that I’m very curious to know what people is actually doing to make their users experience more safe, good practices are always important.

Anti-Flood:
We still rely on the built-in anti-flood system for handling typical chat spam it does its job well.
However, all advanced protection especially against IP-/DDoS flooding is handled externally by trusted, professional systems:
- A reliable anti-DDoS provider with custom-tailored rules specifically designed for our infrastructure
- Custom port and IP filters, including dynamic whitelisting and blacklisting
- Proactive detection and blocking of critical ASNs (Autonomous System Numbers)
We deliberately don’t rely solely on TeamSpeak’s built-in protections, but instead maintain our own hardened infrastructure to effectively defend against even massive attacks.
Our largest recorded DDoS so far peaked at over 700 Gbit/s, and was easily mitigated by our systems.

One major limitation of TeamSpeak servers is their inability to efficiently handle high volumes of UDP traffic.
Even at around 0.70 to 1.00 million packets per second (Mpps), the server can become unstable or completely go offline, regardless of bandwidth capacity.
Without a dedicated external protection system against UDP floods, there’s virtually no defense possible at the server level.
This issue affects every TeamSpeak version, including TeamSpeak 6 it’s not a software flaw, but rather a limitation of the server’s core architecture.
An external protection system is absolutely necessary because both the voice and file transfer ports in TeamSpeak operate over UDP.
This makes them especially vulnerable to flood attacks.
I’m interested in how long it bans for because you can’t change it anywhere. Do you have any ideas? I played around with it but I can’t see how long it bans for, nor the list where it writes your IP address. Is this a bug or something like that?
Can you clarify because I can’t find it anywhere?
