Avcodec-62.dll av_alpha_mode_name error after latest update

After latest update I am unable to even start up TS6.

I get this error:

Can anyone help?

Check your Installation path - there should be an “avcodec-62.dll” - if not, something went wrong during the update and you want to re-install the app from the teamspeak.com website. That should fix that problem.

I just rechecked the .dll - everything looks in order (the symbol av_alpha_mode_name is inside avcodec-62.dll next to the beta4 installation). If a re-install doesn’t help, can you check the output if you start the application via CMD?

So, in that case, start a CMD, and

  • cd “F:\Program Files\TeamSpeak”
  • F:\
  • .\TeamSpeak.exe

And check what that prints

I would check if the file wasn’t captured by antivirus program first

The file was there.
I did start the app via CMD but result was exactly the same.
What resolved it was, completely deleting all the files from the installation folder and installing again from fresh.
I tried to just re-install but that didn’t solve the problem. Deleting whole folder all together did the trick.

Thanks ever so much.

That a reinstall didn’t fix it is rather strange. We’ll investigate either way. Thanks for the report and fix confirmation!
