When i want to change my username i tpye in the correct password it says i dont have the permission for this action. When i type in the wrong password it says the password is incorrect so theres no problem with the password?
Hey im switching back to TS from discord. I went to change my username and inputed my password however it says this action is not allowed.

It is normal, and it is disabled for technical reasons, but itās coming back.

It has been 6 Years and you still canāt change your username.
This way we cannot be competing against discord if vital functions like this are not working

I am looking to migrate my server from Discord over to Teamspeak due to the increasing data collection Discord is doing. Iām trying to get the server setup, and I utilized an old account to do so. Iām now trying to change my username, and I canāt. Iāve tried:
Settings > Account - This gives me the āNot allowed to perform this actionā response.
Settings > Identities > Details - I type in the new username, it disconnects me from chat as I save it, and then it reverts back to my old username.
I also tried within a group chat, and while it appears to be saved when looking at my user details, it still shows the same username whenever I actually send a message.
I did some searches, and the only relevant article appears to be from 2020, at least that I found
Okay, update. I canāt change anything. I canāt remove bookmarks, I canāt add bookmarks, and I keep getting disconnected from the group chats.
Is there something going on on my end, or is teamspeak really this bad?
Username change is non functional right now, and has been for some time. However, you can set a shown name per server in the bookmark.
Which TS6 version do you have? OS? (Windows? Linux?), region?
Group chats might be because of the huge surge in user and community server increase depending on your region? US apperently went bananas and they are working on increasing capacity. Ofc that could cause some instability.
Have you tried logging out and logging back into the client?
You currently can not change your myTS username but renaming bookmarks and identities should not cause any issues.

Renaming is currently disabled.
You can just set another nickname on different TeamSpeak servers via your bookmarks and identities.

So, it has been almost Six years since name changes were disabled for āTechnical Reasonsā
Is there any ETA or any promise we will ever get that function back?
