So my TS6 server has the domain ny1.teamspeak.com and when I try to connect using TS3 client, for some reason it doesn’t let me connect to it. Only when I disable my firewall, but even then I tried to disable everything in the Firewall itself and it only let me go in when I disable the firewall completely, so I’ve got the Teamspeak 3 log generated trying to connect into it and I still don’t quite understand why ny1 is the only server domain I can’t connect into.
I wanted to know what’s causing the issue so I can unblock whatever It’s blocking in my Firewall.
The TDNS was easy to solve l just disabled the option in my Firewall to block Teasmepeak DNS and then that error was gone, but still doesn’t allow me to connect to the server. This only happens in TS3, TS5/TS6 I can connect as normal… Also tried to connect in any other server, even official ones, it works as it should, I can’t connect only in the domain ny1.teamspeak.com for some reason…

Working for me. What TS3 version are you using?

I’m using the latest available so far which is 3.6.2, I think something might be blocking… Is there a way to generate a log on TS3 to see what’s wrong with it?
This is when I try to access any other servers like “Official Teamspeak Public test server” for example…
As you can see, the TDNS was found now for some reason and then It’s connecting, but for some reason when I try to connect into the ny1.teamspeak it refuses to find the TDNS.
I use Portmaster as a firewall to block stuff and of course the solution for this would be disabling it entirely, but I really want to know why and what’s exactly blocking since as I already said above, tried to unblock everything didn’t work, tried to disable the firewall then it worked, but with TS5/TS6 I don’t have the same issue as TS3, so something is off on TS3 I presume…
This is my log after unblock literally everything in the firewall without disabling it
This is when I disable Portmaster entirely
So is there any difference between the 2 logs? If they are different what’s the difference between them?
I even tried to contact the Portmaster support team if they could help me with this, but apparently It’s related to how TS6 server is setup which seems to be not compatible with Portmaster protocols, maybe? Honestly I have no idea, that’s why I uplouded these logs, so it might be useful to help find a solution for this…
It looks like there is some kind of DNS issue that is being blocked by Portmaster.
Maybe there are different settings for TS3 and TS6 in Portmaster which would then be resulting in connection issues.
Can you connect to any of the public TS6 servers which are shown in the TS6 dashboard?

I tried to confirm this and using TS3 to connect in a random TS5 server works yeah, and I don’t need to disable Portmaster entirely for joining the server, but the moment I try to join a TS6 server, no matter the domain It just fails to connect…
The information I got from the Portmaster team is about their support with protocols. You can manage udp/tcp/icmp/igmp and anything that has fragmented packets or niche protocols is automatically blocked. This knowledge goes beyond what I can comprehend, but also could be because TS3 uses reverse lookups?
Both clients definitely use different methods (at least to my knowledge) to connect but how exactly that works out, I am not really sure.
But anyways I don’t think that anything will be changed here, since the is currently no active development for TS3 and the devs are working on TS6.
