When I assign Channel-Groups that show the name of the Group in the tree. Teamspeak 5 doesn´t show them.
The channel group is not displayed only if it has no icon assigned. If it has an icon, it’s normally displayed in the server tree.
This is the [Test] prefix not the Icon.
The Prefix should work without an Icon… At least it is in ts3…
Edit:
If I set an Icon-ID it is shown… But it should also be shown if there is no Icon…
So for me it’s a bug
I put that topic on discussion.
Any new intel on this? Sorry to ask, but it has been quite some time now.
It seems that this bug hasn’t been fixed since then. In the current 6.0.0-beta2 the group name wouldn’t show up in the Server tree unless a Icon is set for the Channel Group.
It also seems that removing a Icon from a Channel Group is immediately reflecting onto TS5/6 Clients. They would need to reconnect to see the change.
I’ll forward this issue again, but it is likely that the team decided against an implementation and therefore it was never brought back.

This issue should be fixed with the next update. 6.0.0-beta4
