Connection Status for Community Servers

Hi,

I wanted to try Community Servers and started my free trial. I’m kind of happy with it; however, I have something I don’t understand fully. I would appreciate it if you could help me understand.

I’m using Squad Plan for now; if I’m correct, I’m also hiring a server, too, right? On the server page, it says: “v6.0.0-beta1 • Linux. Host Provider License.” I also chose Region while setting it up.

The thing I don’t understand is why people have ping while they are streaming, when I use my internet connection for download for instance. I know, the Connection Mode is only available P2P for now instead of Server, but isn’t it means that it’s their connection while streaming?

If I’m the host what is the purpose of purchasing a Community Plan?

Thanks,

Here are the details of the issue:

There are three people in the channel. Now, for instance, I’m downloading a game, and naturally, I’m using my bandwidth. And I can see a high ping in my connection status. This is okay. In this case, my two friends shouldn’t have a high ping on their connection status. Right? Because, it is not related to my internet connection, because it is a server, they can join even if I don’t open my computer.

At the same time, while I’m downloading, one of my friends starting a stream, and the other friend is watching him. The issue we are having is that when my friend watching another friend’s stream, he says he’s having high ping and cannot watch the stream properly, because its quality drops.

Now, they told me about this issue, and I just wonder if it is because of my download. Then I stopped downloading, and everything was fine; my friend told me that he was now watching the stream with high quality. When I start the download again, the same thing happens.

And that’s it. This is the issue. What kind of an issue is this?

I sent this issue to TS Customer Support, but they said they I should open a thread on the forum.

Well, six days left, and there is no answer.

I have already explained everything I can about this issue in the customer support area.

Your computer/internet is not used as a server and can therefore not impact the quality/performance of other except if your friends computer is not powerful enough to handle multiple streams.

As explained P2P and especially TeamSpeak currently not utilizing hardware acceleration will places a large burden on older computers and may therefore impact internet stability or streaming quality.

If this is still an issue please document it well with more information about your computers, internet speeds and the pings you are experiencing.
