Disconnected from Chat / Messenger // You are not connected to chat services

Hello,

I have a problem with TeamSpeak 6 Messenger / Chat services on my main account.

Messenger services stay offline on my main account, but voice server connection works fine.
The push system also connects.

I already tried:

  • logging out and logging back in
  • closing TeamSpeak completely
  • deleting/renaming the cache
  • using Google DNS
  • restarting the client

Nothing fixed it on my main account.

Important update:
I created a completely new TeamSpeak account for testing.
With the new account, Messenger / Chat works immediately.

But when I log back into my old/main account, the problem comes back instantly.

So it does not seem to be my PC, DNS, firewall, cache, router, or TeamSpeak installation.
It seems to be related to my main TeamSpeak account / Messenger Homebase / Chat state.

Client:
TeamSpeak 6.0.0-beta4.1

OS:
Windows 11 x64

Home server:

chat-5.tmspk.net

Relevant tschat.log lines:

Matrix client create: matrixHost=chat-5.tmspk.net
Failed to restore store from save data: invalid login data
Creating fresh store
new crypto account on init - fresh
created new group session storage
connect: ts_chat_id=1 displayname=DjSeira presence=online

TSChat_Connect failed: Protocol error: error=Internal server error errorCode=M_UNKNOWN softLogout=false retryAfterMs=0 proxy=false
Connection failed: err=1

Also earlier in the log:

Failed to upload pre initial crypto keys:
Protocol error: error=Internal server error errorCode=M_UNKNOWN

Initial sync failed:
Protocol error: error=Internal server error errorCode=M_UNKNOWN

TSChat_Connect failed:
Protocol error: error=Internal server error errorCode=M_UNKNOWN

Can someone from TeamSpeak please check, reset, or repair the Messenger/Homebase/Chat state for my main account?

Thank you.

My friend and I have the same situation.
We also tried a bunch of things until I read the post above. I created a new account and everything worked right away
It’s cool, but I’d like to use the main account. Ty in advance

Have the same problem as described above, new account works but the main doesn’t connect to chat servers

Put backslash in links because of the restriction

TeamSpeak 6.0.0-beta4.1 on Arch Linux cannot connect to chat services.

Client log:
TSChat_Connect failed: Protocol error: error=Internal server error errorCode=M_UNKNOWN
Matrix host: \chat-5.tmspk.net

Network test:
\https://clientapi.myteamspeak.com/tschat returns HTTP/2 200
\https://chat-5.tmspk.net returns HTTP/2 503 via Cloudflare

TLS certificate verification succeeds. IPv4 connection succeeds. This appears to be a TeamSpeak chat shard/backend issue, not a local install issue.

UPDATE: 06.08.26
Chats are working again. TY guys

same problem here

I am experiencing the same connection issue with the chat service. I have tried all the suggested solutions without success, so it is clear that this is not a user-side problem.

The workaround suggested by other users—creating a new account to regain access—causes more problems than it solves for me. My current user account manages a dedicated server, and I would have to reassign all those permissions to the new account. While obviously not impossible, it is highly inconvenient.

When was the last update or notification regarding this issue? When can we expect a response or a fix for this?

Thanks for the reports, we’ll investigate and it should be resolved tomorrow morning.

Thank you so much, great job. Though to be honest, the ā€˜not today, come back tomorrow’ part sounded like a meme :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m experiencing this issue right now! Here’s what I’m looking at. I’m still able to enter servers, just cant see any friend or group chat details.

Same problem here. I’ve already reconfigured my DNS and firewall, reinstalled TS6, and tried everything I could, but the issue still persists.

I am also having the issue. I have tried everything possible to fix the issue however it still doesn’t respond

I have also continued to experience the same issue. However voice and chat do work within the server

Thanks for the report, we’re currently investigating this issue.

I am having the same issue. I was watching a stream and then suddenly everything shut down.

The chat is working fine on my end, this might be an issue on your end.
