  1. in the new TS5 client there is in the channel activation of Encrypt Voice Chat what would that be?

This encrypts voice data in the current channel.
But beware this might take a bit more load for the server.

This is what is was in TS3 and yours seem to be set to Configure per channel. So it’s optional for users.

Does this lead to “worse” voice quality or does the quality remain the same with encryption?

so voice quality such as ping etc. does not change with the Encryption setting? what are the advantages and disadvantages of enabling it??

Ping won’t change but it could be when measured that encryption takes longer then voice packets are send back. Butt that’s only in theory.

It may be forbidden per law in your country to encrypt traffic.
