Currently, when banning a user from a group chat, there is no option to provide a ban reason. While the action may be clear to moderators, it’s not transparent to the affected user. When a user is banned from a group chat, the chat simply closes without any notification or explanation. The same behavior also occurs when a user is kicked, as the chat closes without any indication of what happened. There is no indication that a ban has been issued, nor any information about the reason behind it.
If the user then attempts to rejoin the group, the only message displayed is: “Unable to join group chat: 1”.

This error message is not self-explanatory and does not indicate that an active ban is in place. For many users, this can be confusing and lead to misunderstanding.
In my opinion, it would be beneficial to enhance the ban functionality as follows: When issuing a ban, moderators should have the option to provide a ban reason. The affected user should receive a clear system notification stating that they have been removed from the group chat — ideally including the specified reason. Additionally, when attempting to rejoin the group, a clear and informative message should be displayed explicitly stating that the user is banned, rather than showing a generic error code.
