Headset disabled

I have the latest available (3.5.1) from the Apple iPad app store. Although the headset mic and earpiece work properly on VoiceMemo and other sound recording apps, it’s completely disabled on Teamspeak 3. I’m familiar with audio device settings in the TS3 windows client (capture and playback), I can’t make the iOs client work. Suggestions?
