How can I call someone

I am stupid or there is no way to call 1:1 or small group of friends? Is it only for paid servers? Can’t even voice call in group chat? I’ve come over from discord and really hoped to give teamspeak a chance, but come on man. My friend loves to watch my streams and talk to me over voice chat on discord, is there no way to do the same in private chat here?

It is not supported yet. I asked myself the same question. I can share my screen with audio but no comm? Currently only option to voice comm is using servers.

That is a huuuuuge bummer. Back to bad discord again :sob:

I agree, the lack of call on group chat is a big mistake. Come back to Discord for this.

It’s so stupid that you have to join a server to join voice with someone.

its weird how the update thats supposed to bring people to teamspeak is just lacking most of the basic things that will bring people over…

I mean, if it was supposed to follow Discord’s logic, then It probably would be called discord something? Joke’s apart,Teamspeak have all the rights to be different, so you want 1:1 right? Just join a server, create a private room with password, invite your friend and boom. All of the sudden you are on 1:1 with your friend, wasn’t difficult, was it? Guess just need to have your mind opened for what is different and not practical since you already got used to Discord’s way to voice chat.

  • Why not possible with group chats? Well, I guess because knowing new people is more fun than having everyone in their own bubble…

Not sure what this person is talking about, but you can share screen with audio included… Even if it wasn’t possible there are ways you can mitigate that…

First of all, TeamSpeak is a voice chat. if you want to communicate, connect to the servers. And don’t make it up that it’s a mistake. This wish of yours will not be implemented

If you’re correct imo they won’t be able to compete with discord at all and the number of users will continue to decline.

@Psebcool @Junk_Lover @xKenpachi21 Can you all please understand that TeamSpeak is not Discord? Yes, they’re both voice communication platforms, but they work differently and have completely different monetization strategies. One runs by making your data the product, while the other relies on a paid service. There are still big community servers like mine where you can enjoy a completely free experience - at the expense of the server owner. So stop running around expecting everything to be free, thats not how our capitalist world works. If something is free, you are the product.

Then TeamSpeak shouldn’t try to compete with Discord. People won’t switch from Discord to TeamSpeak because it lacks many features that Discord offers.

I can tell you from an alpha user perspective that they’re not interested to compete with Discord since it’s a different target audience that doesn’t care about their data.

why not compete with discord? There’s a big push of people not wanting to use american companies anymore. If there is peer to peer screen sharing without a server already why not just add an audio channel? I think a lot more people would be willing to make the switch than you think, it just takes a couple more feature.

Funny fact: TeamSpeak is no longer just a German company

TeamSpeak Systems, Inc.

By the way, TeamSpeak already offers audio communication on both self-hosted and hosted servers. This is their way of monetizing through server slot licensing

Only the Sales thing is usa cuz tax

Did you ever stop to think that they’re not competing with Discord??? If you don’t like what TS has to offer then go use whatever it is that you think will, but to be honest people bellyaching about what they want isn’t gonna get it to happen any quicker…

I am not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes; I downloaded TeamSpeak 6.0.0 yesterday after having not used it for over four years. When I went in to create a group chat, that went fine. However there was no voice option. I intended on using this as a means to use VoIP to communicate with friends while doing stuff in World of Warcraft as a replacement for Discord and the BN Client which have been giving us all issues of late. Do the new group options have voice? What do I have to do so that we can find a room with voice options? Is the voice option stuck behind a subscription wall?

Here you’ll find the guide on how to talk to people on TS 6.
