Icons not loading/invisible after clearing app cache

Hello everyone,

I am having a persistent issue with the TeamSpeak 3 Android application where server icons are completely invisible.

The problem started after I cleared the app cache and app data on my phone. Before clearing the cache, all server and channel icons were visible. After doing so, they all disappeared and never loaded back.

To fix this, I tried the following steps but none of them worked:

  1. Reconnected to the server multiple times.

  2. Uninstalled and reinstalled the TS3 Android app.

  3. Changed my network connection from Wi-Fi to Mobile Data (and vice versa).

  4. I even factory reset my Android phone, but the icons are still not downloading or showing up.

Here are my device and software details:

  • Device: Oppo A5

  • Androd Version / Build: ColorOS 16.0.5.701

  • Mobile Client Version: 3.8.5

Is there any specific reason why the app stops fetching icons from the server after a cache wipe?

Can you check with a desktop device if the same issue is appearing there after clearing the cache?

On a first look either the icons on the server we’re deleted or the file transfer port is no longer forwarded.

Yes, I checked with a desktop user who has a completely empty cache, and the icons are loading perfectly fine on PC.

The issue is strictly happening on the Android mobile app. After doing a cache wipe on the mobile client, it just completely stopped downloading icons on certain servers. Since even a factory reset of the phone did not solve the issue, it feels like the mobile app is having a hard time starting a fresh asset download from scratch on some server setups.

Are there any simple settings or workarounds within the mobile app to force it to refresh and download the server icons again?

  • Which TS Version did you check with on the Desktop side?

  • What server Version are you using / connected to?

  • And can you check if the issue appears on a different server as well?

  1. I tested with desktop versions 3.6.2 and TS6. The icons show up perfectly fine on PC.
  2. The server version is 3.13.8 Linux.
  3. The icons load correctly on other servers. This only happens on our server. Once the Android mobile app cache is cleared, the icons disappear and never download again. Even a factory reset of the phone did not fix it.

Could you check which file type you’re using for the server icon?

If possible, try using a different format, such as PNG, JPG, or SVG.
