Increased User Base/New Feature Ideas/Pricing

So, with everyone going to teamspeak I think they should try to smooth out the UI a bit more; the scrolling look when trying to join voice chats etc is a bit clunky and I feel like that should be changed to be more categorized with tabs off to the side rather than a long list to scroll down. It feels a bit overwhelming especially when you have a bunch of tabs (as seen in the public teamspeak server.) There definitely needs to be more customization options for communities, something to give you more bang for your buck.

I also think there should be a teamspeak application released for the consoles that can be used like the Discord apps on PS5 and Xbox One.

The biggest thing I would like to see done is having a free server or a reduction of pricing. A lot of people are hesitant to make the change to teamspeak because, doing the math, it’s more expensive to own and operate a server than it is with Discord. $4/month for only 10 slots is pretty steep when you look at the annual price. 10 slots should be a free server in my opinion or $2/month. In the long run, with everyone making the change due to Discord’s TOS, a price reduction would bring in even more business than before BECAUSE people want to be able to talk to friends without the worry of what a company may or may not do to their personal information.

Realistically the biggest change needed, in my opinion, is the pricing.

There is always the possibility to self-host a server yourself with the free 32 slot license. You can either run it on your own hardware or rent a VPS and host it there, which might be cheaper than the official hosting. However, that comes with the drawback of having to manage a server yourself.

If you don’t mind using public servers, you can create a temporary channel on one, secure it with a password and hangout there with your friends.

As for pricing changes, I seriously doubt that will happen, since providing a free server is not sustainable long term. Reducing price even to $2/month probably would not make economic sense, as around 25% of that would go to the payment processor. Adding other fees and taxes on top of that, it might not be enough to break even.
