Linux screen sharing audio not available

Waiting for Linux Audio on Screen Shares so we can finally switch away from Discord

Also awaiting Linux screen sharing audio so my group can move to TeamSpeak.

Happening for me on X11 too.

It’s now March so I assume you guys have either given up or it’s years away for some reason. Very disappointing.

Also really eager for this feature

Screensharing on Discord in Linux is a mess sometimes it uses vaapi but sometimes it decides to use the software encoder instead and you can’t even tell it to use vaapi let alone that the only encoder available is h264 (at least on amd vaapi) we definitely need to ditch Discord all together

My streaming audio is not coming through to people on the server, there is no volume bar as well as, when you click the nerd stats the audio is blocked out. As well as when i start my stream the audio bit rate for the stream is blocked out.

Also a side note, I am using a rodecaster pro 2 and using pro audio.

The capture audio button is also locked

Linux audio when screen sharing is currently not supported supported that is why the option is not selectable. As a work around you can use something like helvum or another patchbay tool to re-route the audio into your mic input (assuming you are using pipewire)

Sad, been on the roadmap for almost half a year.

Developers says that it should be after Foundation II update, which adds macOS audio capture support. Yeah, i know it doesn’t make much sense to have macOS capture support before Linux, but it’s how it goes.

I am waiting for this feature too.

It does make sense, the clients are nearly identical. They will get support at the same time for both.

I think your reply doesn’t make sense. The clients definitelly aren’t indetical, but i agree that development on this is really slow
