It would be great if you could make channels “sticky”, so they cannot be moved or reordered.
It would be cool if this could be done with a checkbox for each channel. I know that you can also remove the permissions from users, but in general I don’t think that is a very nice solution.
It would be better if you could prevent moving channels temporarily or permanently after they are in the correct order, just by using a checkbox.
Somehow, since TeamSpeak 2, there have always been server admins with fat fingers.
If It’s not broken why fix it? This is one of those things…
TeamSpeak 2 didn’t even allow to drag and drop like TS3, so maybe that’s what you are mentioning here? I’m pretty sure all users besides you, appreciate the drag and drop feature, I don’t understand why going back to the old days or have an option for it…
I guess you need to go back to the basics and set the the server the right way, if you need help I’m also here to help…
I don’t see this as a feasible option for each Channel. It might make sense to do this as a client setting, however then you’ll might not remember that you’ve enabled this. Adding even more confusion.
The easiest way to handle this is to create a management group that your admins can assign them to themselves.

Talking about confusion, my server is the only server probably that uses permission per channel basis and not the Server group like most people do and I can say you are right about confusion… Sometimes I even forget what I set it up for a particular channel
As I said, I don’t want this feature to be removed. It would just be nice to have an additional feature called “sticky.”
I only use drag and drop once, until the server is set up. After that, I don’t need it anymore.
I have some server admins who like to drink and relax in TeamSpeak, and I don’t want to restrict their permissions. It would just be nice to have a “make channel sticky” checkbox, similar to the “make connection secured” option.
To not forget that you had enabled the feature it could be also displayed in the channel information like “Typ: Permanent , Flags: None”
This would be a pretty significant change in the TeamSpeak protocol that would require changes to the server, the TS3 and TS6 client. Thus I don’t see something like this happening anytime (soon).
However for you specific “problem”, you could create another server group that can modify channels and allow server admins to assign this group to themselves. Then make sure this group has b_group_is_permanent set to false. This way everyone with the permissions can still unlock editing and the server group will be removed when they reconnect so it can not happen by accident.

Haha, you as a community are really great. Thank you very much.
I know about the many workarounds, but I do not see TeamSpeak as a hobby project. I see it as a company that will lead the “connecting communities” market again in the future, so I think such a feature would be nice to have.
This did not really come from me personally, because I think, “oh well, then someone just moves a channel.” In TeamSpeak there are backups, and you can fix the channel order again in a few seconds.
These were serious wishes and opinions from people I use TeamSpeak with every day. They clearly see the advantages of the platform and would like to get the best out of it.
Since this is the suggestions section, I thought I would ask about it
I did not want to start a big discussion. But TeamSpeak grows with its community.
