When I’m in the upper section of the scroll bar, the rest of the top sidebar is not highlighted, instead the bottom scroll bar is highlighted.

The color show different chunks and not the active position.
See.
Top is dark and i jumped to first message in chat.
Middle is light and i jumped to an older message (somewhere in the middle of the chat).
Bottom is dark and here are newest chats.
Chunks are separated in what is loaded in your chat and what messages are missing in between.
On the top or bottom of each chunk the client would load messages and chunks would connect when ll messages are loaded between them.

Ah okay I thought that they have a different color when you are in the specific chunk. So that it is easier to identify in which part you are right now.
