Native Apple Silicon build for the TeamSpeak 3 client

While I appreciate the effort of the new TeamSpeak client, it would still be awesome to see a native apple silicon build for the older ts3 client. This would ensure a functional and minimal client without google analytics tracking while we still wait for a non-beta ts6 release with the removal of the current account requirements (and hopefully fully opt out tracking).

TeamSpeak 3 sunset: TeamSpeak 3 hasn’t seen major new features for a while, and that doesn’t change today. It stays supported through a phased transition, with end-of-life targeted for December 31, 2027. There’s no abrupt cutoff now, we’ll give advance notice of major changes, and the date is there so you can plan a move to TeamSpeak 6 in your own time. We’ll share more details as we go, and we’ll do our best to make the transition from TeamSpeak 3 to TeamSpeak 6 as smooth as possible.

Given this disheartening announcement I doubt something like what you are asking for will happen.

Yes I’am aware of this, and I’m not sure how this makes me feel as a long time TeamSpeak user. The ts5/6 client has been in beta since more than half a decade now, sometimes feeling like it has been abandoned completely. Im not sure if stuffing this new client, based on web technologies with more tracking, account requirements etc. into everyone’s faces is the best way to keep or grow your user-base. Also, when rosetta2 is dropped in September next year it would also take a way the possibility to even stay on ts3 till September edit: December.

I was also an early adopter of the new teamspeak client when it was still called ts5, signing up and participating the the alpha as well, and I really, really appreciate the efforts made on the new client, being natively compatible with aarch64 as well as brining it into the official App Store.

But I’m afraid we’re also loosing something with these changes ahead, especially when looking for a lightweight and private alternative to discord (for example).

I though why not ask for it and hope for some good faith, ts6 is still uncertain and in beta, prices for licenses have still to be announced, you can’t fully opt out of telemetry and even need to sign in with an myteamspeak account. Promises of this being dropped still need to be seen first and it’s hard to double down on teamspeak for the long run until then.
