Not able to stream on Windows server

I wanted to stream on Windows Server and sadly i wasn’t able to make it working. Not sure if it’s because of missing audio devices or the lack of dedicated video card. But i think that it should be possible to do, there should be check if audio can be recorded or not and fallback to software decoding should be there if no HW acceleration is available.

I have tried streaming on discord and it worked flawlessly there

Audio should not be the reason for streaming not working, rather incompatible capturing support from the OS.

Okay, it’s really weird then. Running latest Windows Server 2025 which is like Windows 11. Not sure what is missing there

May I ask whether the Windows Server is running directly on a dedicated machine or in a virtual machine?

Virtual machine

If that’s the case, how is the CPU passed on to the VM? Did you enable any additional flags?

I’ll run a test on my Windows Server 2025 VM. Maybe I can reproduce the issue.

I have tried multiple times and I found out that in some scenarios it is able to stream, but it’s totally random. No idea what is the issue there.

I don’t host the VPS myself, so no idea how is it setup. But if it’s able to capture the screen in some scenarios then the issue must be somewhere else

This is where it will usually stuck:
