For the streamer, it would be ideal to have the choice of where to stream:
P2P
Server-sided
Or directly to external platforms (YouTube, Twitch, etc.)
By default, when starting a stream, it should offer direct streaming to YouTube or Twitch as the main option. Many people already want to stream to their audience on those platforms anyway.
Even better would be deep integration:
People inside the TeamSpeak 6 server can chat and interact directly with the YouTube/Twitch stream (and vice versa).
Stream chat could be bridged into the TS channel, and TS users could send messages that appear in the stream chat.
This way the streamer doesnāt have to manage two separate chats, and the TS community feels fully connected to the stream.
For viewers it really doesnāt matter how they watch ā as long as itās smooth and reliable.
Would love to see something like this in a future update!
Weāre making great progress with the SFU (which enables server-side streaming).
The original plan was to release it together with another major feature that we havenāt announced yet in the upcoming Foundation III Update. However, itās looking like weāll split them up instead.
Right now, the plan is to ship the unannounced major feature first, and then release the SFU shortly after. This gives us some additional time to continue testing and polishing the SFU without having to postpone the entire update.
That said, thereās still a chance the SFU could make it into the Foundation III Update if everything comes together in time, so nothing is set in stone just yet. For now though, weāre planning on shipping them separately.
If anything changes, Iāll make sure to share it with everyone.
So this means weāll have to wait until October just to find out what this new feature is, which might not even drop until sometime in 2027. And that leaves us completely in the dark about the video streaming feature for TS6 dedicated servers until at least 2028.
