We cannot yet provide a specific release date. We know that everyone is eagerly awaiting it, but we also want to ensure that it is implemented properly and not rushed.
Hello TeamSpeak community,
I have been testing released docker version of TeamSpeak6 server specially because of recent security issue with Discord ID/Face recognition.
Could be there in near future released option for servers to allow Server screen sharing instead of P2P ?
Iam proud part of the TS3 community over 13years with self hosted servers and only reason to use DC is screen sharing. P2P screen sharing solution its nice feature for LAN but its not possible use word wide. Limitation is usually some FW or router security / NAT that blocking this solution for most of the community.
In current situation this would be crucial time revive TeamSpeak community. I am fully open to help with any BETA testing of this solution on my servers, provide feedback or proceed investigation leading success of this feature.
Let me know if its there any hidden option that could open Server screen sharing.
Thank you and good luck with development
Apparently the server side screen sharing has been opted into the client but the actual server files for making it work havent been released yet and i myself have found no recent updates regarding thatā¦
Thank you for reply,
I was searching in other threads and seen same result you shared. In case its there some closed beta i volunteering for help ![]()
Now this should be number one priority
any update on the new feature? discord forcing I.D on users has a big influx of people looking for an alterative. this is an opportunity! the only thing holding TS back is the screen share streaming to server instead of P2P!!!
Letās go lets get Screensharing by Server please! We want to ditch discord so bad!
Hey, I saw there are a bunch of servers that are āscreen share enabledā. After endlessly looking around, I finally give in and need your help; How do I enable screen sharing on my self-hosted TS6 server? What is the correct environment variable?
Cheers
Waiting for an update. ![]()
Just a note, people who are behind CG-NAT (i am one) Cannot P2P. meaning effectively users with this kind of ISP dont have screen share at all, cannot share or even watch. Eagerly waiting for this to become available server-side.
I do hope the devs take this into account as some wired ISPs do take this approach and as far as i know ALL cellular ISPs also.
Iām pretty rusty on self hosting things (shame on me) but Iāve worked today to set up a server that is run off of my nas. My question is what settings do I have to set up to allow screen sharing (if it is possible on a server run off a nas)
I had used the yaml file with some tweaks to get my server up and running but when I go to screen share people are unable to fully connect. it shows as one person viewing but I get an error that FPS lower than target 30 and 0ās basically across the board except for 3.8ms on capture time, 1.5ms pre-processing time, and 30 for capture & render FPS.
The Quality (target) is at 1280x720 30fps
Quality (current) 0x0 0fps
Iām just not sure what to do or where to go and would appreciate any guidance
Iām not sure if this will be changed when the server option is available, but I did have a VPN running, and once I disconnected from that I was able to both have others join my stream, and join their streams.
Will the server option allow users to still use their VPN to stream their screens?
Yes. The current itteration is P2P, which means your machine is sending the signal to your buddies. The server option removes the load from your machine and puts it to the server, in this case the VPN will work.
i have cg-nat and i can stream and join other streams.
Weāve been wanting this feature for over a year. In my opinion, itās one of the most important features and should be given top priority. I think most people are aware that the server files are in beta, so if you have something that works but isnāt perfect, please release it.
Either your priorities are wrong, you canāt get it to work, or you want to gate keep the feature.
Will we finally find out when the server-based screen sharing feature will be implemented?
Currently, streams freeze at random times, and half of my friends canāt even watch them, so our only solution is to stream via Discord.
