Other user get lowered when i talk // TS-6

moved to own thread by moderator

TS5 automaticaly lowers others when i speak (press push to talk). And I can’t find where to turn this off. For my use case scenario this is anoying.

Echo Reduction / ducking in Audio settings does this.
Turn slider to the right in case you do not want any reduction.

Or you have are a priority speaker, in this case your voice is prioritized over others.

Oh. I actually have to pump the bar up to have no effect! It is a bit counter intuitive.

Volume of other people changes when they talk.

Please help me

Try to put this to right.

Settings → Audio → Echo Reduction / Ducking

Good day!

When I talk other people get quieter. I dont have “echo cancelation” on. I dont have a priority speaker status. I have “do nothing“ in Windows communication settings. Also I have 2 friends: one of them has the same issue, the other one doesn’t. We checked and found out that our settings are the same. I cannot find a solution. Please, help.

Could you please share your Audio settings (both TS and Windows) as well as the channel codec settings?

I have the same issue. Same configurations as OP himself. Checked windows settings and microphone Settings too. Also the driver of my headset. If you have the solution, please advise.
Thank you very much

Hey i just came back to TS after years of using Discord and now i have a really weird problem. When i talk to my friends, all of them sound like someone is turning their volume up and down all the time, like the volume is trying to balance itself. I have turned everything off that could cause this and the problem doesnt appear in discord or any other apps. what could be the problem?

I had a similar issue with the mobile app, this wouldn’t be related to the mobile version right?

Please share your audio settings to further investigate this.

Hello,

I setup my own TS6 server as discord alternative - real quick: THIS IS YOUR CHANCE! to get ppl merging to TS but it needs to work good and very soon! rooting for you guys :right_facing_fist:

Anyway…

Automatic gain control is always on and mutes everyone speaking when my mic goes on. Tested while letting someone speak and gently blowing in my mic. This results in fast turning down / muting everyone in my channel. which is unusable, especially with voice activation.

I tried:

  1. disabling exclusive device permission
  2. multiple reinstalls
  3. enabling disabling gain control 20+ times
  4. playing with all other settings under “audio processing” just everything
  5. changing mic devices
  6. different channels with different codecs (because we thought it is a server issue first…)

It simply never turns off. And also I think that option should never fully mute others. maybe -3db but not mute.

Cheers guys.

What roles have you assigned yourself within the server?
Does this happened on every channel within your server?

If you go in to your client permissions (Right click yourself and chose “client permissions”
Search for “Priority” and see that “Client is Priority Speaker” is not set.

Do the same check for whatever servergroup / channel group you have assigned yourself aswell.

You need to move the Echo Reduction / Ducking slider to the right side.

well well. that makes sense
very confusing if I do not know what it does and tick it to test and forgett xD

Also the second reply from @LeonMarcelHD makes sense to actually set the duck if we want one. very nice.

Cheers to you two!
