Performance of screen sharing - 6.0.0-beta3

Hi,

Me and my community tested screen sharing in previous days. at the beginning it was troublesome, but we changed some things etc and it started to work great, it worked great for few days, but some had problems with performance (low quality or lagging), and since yesterday me and my friend (it worked perfect for us) started to have lags and quality losses, we didnt change any setting. Sometimes its working great, sometimes its lagging in the same game with same settings. Any idea?

Can you provide some more Information:
what codec av1 or h264?
Bitrate?
30 or 60 fps?
Streamer Hardware CPU/gpu?
Your tweaked Settings?
What is being streamed, Games etc?

H264

AV1 decoding: Nvidia cuvid av1 decorder

H264 Encoding: nvidia nvenc H.264 encoder

H264 decoding: nvidia cuvid h264 decoder

bitrate: tested from 6,5k to 10k, same result right now

30 fps

from 720p to 1440p and source (same result)

Cisco OpenH264 off

Hardware accelaration on

I streamed some PoE in hideout, Dota 2 and HoN. Same result. Ive got 1gbps connection up/down.

rtx 3070ti with ryzen 9800x3d tried also with rtx 4080 and ryzen 7800x3d.

My friends also strong setups, good connections, but for one its working good sometimes, for anothers no matter the settings - its like 240p. They tried different combinations.

Try using Cisco OpenH264, it should reduce CPU load.

Since the last update was over a week ago, nothing has changed on the client side, meaning it is probably related to networking?

CPU goes to 2%, thats completely fine, GPU goes to 15%. Network usage isnt too big too.
As I said, it worked great, we didnt change anything. Now it became laggy or for some friends quality losses. If thats possible I could even increase network usage I got like 1 gpbs. Dunno what happenned or what to improve.

P.S. Win10 can have any impact on this? Server side (its previous update) but it shouldnt matter.

This has been going on in my group’s server since the last update as well, you start a stream and it runs fine at first but the longer it goes the more frames become lost until it’s a very laggy mess, restarting fixes the problem but only temporarily as it will eventually start to lose frames yet again and you repeat the process of restarting stream every 10-15 minutes, it’s very annoying.
