Questions about Teamspeak 6

Hello

I have been using TS2/3 for decades and want to ask 2 things:

  1. Why is there such an extensive Terms and Conditions for the Teamspeak 6 client and especially why does it include cookie and 3rd party related sections for doubeclick, google, youtube, twitter, and such with duration of over 16 years. Can I opt out of that and permanently disable any such connection or integration?

  2. When people join my Teamspeak3 servers with a teamspeak 6 client, and they send a picture (i assume embedded), it translates it to a publicly accessible link that is hosted at teamspeak itself so teamspeak3 users also can click an see it. But this breaks any encryption or confidentiality. Is that intended?

For me teamspeak was always my go to due to its security and safety (not perfect but at least some encryption), but it seems that teamspeak6 is going in a direction i don’t understand and am afraid of (hence the questions).

I hope there are good reasons and that someone can take my fear away. (Although I wont use Teamspeak 6 anyway until i can use it without a centralized account).

  1. Those are the cookies of 3rd party services that are implemented into the client. You currently can not adjust the cookie settings, but on what diagnostics and feedback data is shared with us.

  2. The images are only viewable by TS6 users. They are currently stored on myTS and not the self hosted server instance.

Thank you for the answer!

Will this be something that will be improved in the future in terms of privacy?

Regarding 2.

Yes this is something we’ll have a look at it again in the future
