I’m asking Will you guys be making free small servers. so me and my friends can talk and play together. Since discord wants a ID to be able to speak to people also can you guys refine the app a little bit! Its kind’a acting strange. Keeps disconnecting me I’m East Coast USA , The Teamspeak Public bookmark does not work.
Username change says enter password = Enter password = Erro cannot change
Other than that I just wana play talk to friends. Not have to give my Gov ID to a online soical contract to play with people. Why I’m back here Keep the privacy up guys! I love it. FREEDOM!
Just host your own server if ya’ll play together at the same time. They offer the container image, took me about 10 minutes to get my own server up and running with docker compose and their yaml example. Free License supports 32 folks. Awesome stuff.
The first app that came to mind was Teamspeak after I heard about the ID verification, but I was hoping it would be straight forward, create a group, add friends, chat and voice chat. Teamspeak was ok to use but discord absolutely nailed it with it being far more user friendly, and easy to use. I tried it now and it was confusing coming from what I would say is very user friendly, teamspeak does not need to conform much in order for people to use it tho.
If the developers of Teamspeak creates even just a slightly more user friendly way to connect to voice with friends, the ability to call privately with a single user, have a way to make group calls and manage your own group without jumping trough the hoops of creating a server (like the old days) People will come back to teamspeak, granted they don’t bend the knee like so many corpos are doing atm.
Authoritarianism and surveillance is coming unless people show what Discord is doing is unpopular, stop paying for Nitro and find alternatives, Teamspeak can be the app every gamer can vouch for.
Hello, as an old 2020 user (probably earlier but the testers badge says so)
I decided to also move over here. Well give it a fair shake to say the least.
The first notice, besides some server stability on my side (fixable)
and maybe the main gripe i have before transferring the community over.
Is that you have to join a voice channel, to see their chat content.
While thats the core of TeamSpeak, we mostly are a writing focused community where people check on us on the phone or wherever they are/can be for updates.
I believe this part is crucial to a content-creator community.
Which brings me to the mobile app itself.
So far the first expression is that i cant wipe my bookmarks, got the app to crash on “security level improvement”
Friends self hosted server can’t increase the users size above 32.
I can’t erase my old old bookmarks to add it, every erase = server reconnect and it restores it.
But group chats and private chats so far are functional.
Besides everything, the key reason why people will swap is that even if you don’t upload your govID (crucial for VTubers who fear stalkers) and you stay in “Teen mode”.
With the update follows an LLM/AI implementation which makes even private-messages tracked. The updates are beyond intrusive and there isn’t anything you can do against them.
Sadly TS6 so far has a big focus on voice chat (which is good) but it misses the basic chat channels focus (so far).
Looking forward to new updates, there is 1 month mitigation time to decide what to do.
I love TeamSpeak dearly. We use it as a Clan daily. Our Server is still on TS3 as the new features aren’t even out for private servers yet. And regarding your timeframe. The new Teamspeak has been in beta for at least five years. Changes barely happen. I don’t even know how many people work in development here but you can basically forget to jump ship to only Teamspeak. For voice sure but if you want to have a one in all solution for your community need, I say go look for another alternative. Sadly.
