TeamSpeak 5.0.0-beta71

I’m using Windows 11 (22H2)

3 Screens in total

  • Main monitor 2560x1440 (Horizontal)
  • Secondary monitor 1080x1920 (Vertical - Flipped)
  • TV 1920x1080 (Horizontal)

placement.json exists and is modified upon closing the client.

I always kept my client confined to my secondary vertical monitor and prior to this update it never “spilled” on to my primary monitor. I’ve made a recording of what I’m on about.

What nonsense are you spreading here?

That’s a detail we needed. :slight_smile:

You are showing a picture of what i wrote. Your point was that you now need to open the info dialog to manage the server.
I’m telling you It has always been that way.

In your picture

  1. You clicked on the server name.
  2. This opens the Server info dialog.
  3. There you got the buttons to manage.

Same steps needs to be done in b71 if you want to manage the server that way.

The only thing changed here is that the manage buttons on top are moved.
But this was not part of my answer.

I would actually take a little inspiration from Discord’s sidebar and how themes work there along with how their slim sidebar works.
Their sidebar have servers and rooms on 1 row, they don’t have friends on the same row, but have a separate row where you can see users you recently have sent messages to.

You guys could use a second row as the friends list and give people options how they want to customize and organize both rows.
As of now the customization is very limited, which actually already causes the excessive scrolling you guys are worried about.

Especially when you have enforced offline and online category separation, making friends appear in 2 different sections with spacing between them. That is one point of cause for excessive scrolling.

As for the themes. I don’t know if I need to re-do them from scratch completely or just update them.

I didn’t create them from scratch to begin with. I used already made themes as templates and changed every value so that it looks more like what me and my friends are looking for in a TeamSpeak theme.
Which is why I have only shared my modified theme privately with friends.

The themes still work with some very small visual inconsistencies. The slim sidebar for one won’t work with one of my themes as it was never designed for it. It was designed for heavily modifying the regular sidebar.
The other theme work with the slim sidebar, as it doesn’t change the sidebar at all. So no visual conflicts occurs as a result of that.

Maximal compatibility version is 10.15.7 (Catalina) for me. If i try install bigger version, i get error with compatibility.

@Fubister

Just another thought after one user reported the same.
Is the client snapped on the left side on the monitor?

In case it is this is known. The client will restart with default size when last position was snapped in Windows.

Yes I know what you mean but no, I don’t use windows snapping for that, I set the dimensions manually leaving few pixels of margin on each side

Hi,

after yesterday’s discussion in the german Beta Test room and several users of my own TS approaching me that they are unable to create a chat account even with “multipass” activated, I decided to create several fresh myTS accounts to test.

I was unable to set my homebase to either central or decentral with those freshly created myTS accounts and also the tschat.log stayed empty even with “debug” log level (multipass was ofc activated). After downgrading to beta70, I was able to set homebase to central on those same accounts. If you need more details, feel free to ask me :slightly_smiling_face:

Kind regards.

Danke!

We can reproduce this and will investigate.

We still struggle to reproduce this here.

Is this also happening while client was closed on Main screen?
Is there any software (other then Windows or your Driver) involved for multi monitor usage?
And by any chance is this active?

This Slider moved to left side is supposed to start tour again and next time you open option the tour was started and slider was also moved to right again.

Short it’s a Reset Tour button

I don’t understand, doesn’t really make sense.

Why then a slide button and no push button?

You disable the option and thus tell the client that you have not yet seen the tour. So directly after that the client starts the tour again. When the tour started the toggle button get’s activated again as you now have seen the tour.

Best would be a link a “Reset Tour”

Not a button or a slider.

I agree with you.

@TS.ChrisR

Actually no… this does not happen on my main screen. I do have DMT software installed so I can lock out my mouse leaving the screen if I play a game in a window mode but it’s turned off and I haven’t used it for some time now. One interesting thing I discovered is that what actually happens is that each time the client start up on that specific screen it grows by itself which is bizarre so actually the problem is not that it doesn’t store last set dimensions but that it grows with each restart and it can grow infinitely. Check out the vid I recorded with screens side by side.

I will do some more digging

//edit

I found it, I took a screenshot before I closed down the client and then I took one after and noticed it’s about 25% bigger and each restart grows it by another 25% which got me thinking and I figured it out, it’s the Windows scaling, on that monitor it’s set to 125% so I can see better :slight_smile: while the rest is original 100%. Tested it on my main where I set 125% and the problem occurs you can now try it out yourself.
