TeamSpeak 5 - plans 2024/2025?

Is today scheduled release?

I wouldn’t expect a release. More like an announcement. But we’ll see

TBH, I think announcement was made yesterday with blurred version of new TeamSpeak.

I’m praying this has Linux support btw. Can someone confirm the opposite so I don’t get my hopes up? @LeonMarcelHD

I was really hyped about it dropping today XD
But it looks like a really clean design and who could have hoped for camera and screen sharing?

I saw screenshot of new client, congrats to whole dev team.

I have 2 questions:

  • will be there possible to stream full hd, 2k - 60fps?
  • did u update mobile apps too (is cameea sharing working on phone)?

  1. Stay tuned for a surprise once the update is released :stuck_out_tongue:
  2. There is currently no “new” TeamSpeak app that supports the new client

I think the quality hardly depends how much the serverowner allows.
All rendering happens on the "streamer"side.
So if you limit bandwith for that serverside, either the quality drops or you have to lower the res.

Yes, but you need to add support for specific resolution / FPS.

hype, hype, hype!

No, why should you? at the end it’s all limited on bitrate and your hardware that is rendering the resolution.

The server has no load from that, it just needed bandwith.

If screenshare is setup right in 2 ways you should:

  1. Way: Customize it like in OBS
  2. Way: There are Preset like “Full resolution” 3/4 of it 1/2 of it and 1/4 of it ()
    (
) f.e. your resolution is 3840x2160 so you have 2560x1440, 1920x1080 and so on with predefined selectable frames (24.94/30/50/60)

AND: When it’s like in the screenshot, that’s pretty good.

@SYOX What encoders are supported? Can you already share that information? AV1 would be dope

Give me Alpha for the TS5 Client and Server :grinning:

I hope they’ll release the server files as well.

Any news on linux support? Streaming w/ audio (and no ridiculous workaround) would be a huge huge draw for this

Being able to stream into the server through OBS would be awesome
