You have a good point here; I still miss being able to edit channel permission power etc …
Do you miss Opus Music because you only use discord or how should I understand that? Because Opus Music still exists exactly as it did before. However, Opus Voice is better for normal conversations, Opus Music is better for music bots etc
Well tbf if my buddies would switch - i wouldn’t miss it, i also have a TS-server running but they won’t use TS due to lack of features (i don’t want to yank it out but… screensharing f.e.)
Opus music is also fine for conversations, if you have decent mics (i personally have a Rode Podmic and a Shure SM7B). You really can hear how much more depth is in the voice.
All, except one or two, of my buddies are on Dynamic or big membrane mics.
And yeah i used to have a musicbot playing but scapped that, weren’t used that often.
The quote is ~4 hours old, as i mentioned if we can maybe use teamspeak…
Eh, while nothing new, I understand your criticism about slow development and license changes, but the level of communication shouldn’t be something to judge a company and especially developers by. Just look at Valve.
I hate being pessimistic. As with many promises in this day and age, similar to early access games, I am going to believe TS only when they release something that is useable. Until then my hopes stay as low as they are at the moment.
It’s been almost a year since the last update to TeamSpeak, and I believe it’s time to address the growing concerns within the community. While I understand this topic has been brought up multiple times in the past, the continued silence only amplifies the frustration and uncertainty among your user base.
For example, the screen sharing feature has been in testing since August, but with no clear updates or roadmap, many fear it might follow the same path as the TS5 client—perpetually in beta, with little communication about its future.
We deeply value TeamSpeak and its potential, but the lack of transparency regarding development progress, upcoming features, or even the challenges you might be facing has left the community in the dark. This silence risks alienating long-time users who have remained loyal to the platform despite increased competition.
Could you please provide an official statement on the current state of development? Even a brief update or roadmap would go a long way in reassuring your community that TeamSpeak is still actively evolving.
Thank you for taking the time to address this. The community is eager to hear from you.
This Statement hit the nail on the head.
Please read everything carefully. @LeonMarcelHD explains very precisely why
things are so quiet around TeamSpeak.
I’ve read Marcel’s post in the past, but I have to say that the management’s strategy seems really odd. It feels like they rely on the most loyal Teamspeak users to provide support, which is unusual. I understand that all the developers are doing their best, but providing at least some sneak peeks or updates would go a long way in giving hope to the loyal community.
The people on the forum are the most dedicated users, and ignoring them is probably the worst psychological strategy to take. It risks alienating those who have stuck by the platform through thick and thin. A little engagement or communication from the team could make a huge difference in maintaining trust and excitement for what’s to come.
Additionally, while screensharing is an important feature, there’s so much more that needs attention. The UI needs to be updated to meet modern standards, and there are numerous issues with the mobile apps that need to be addressed. It’s clear there’s potential, but better communication and a more focused approach to these long-standing issues would really help keep the community engaged and optimistic.
Is anyone from the team actually active on this TeamSpeak, aside from posting some pictures on other social media platforms, instead of focusing on the development of TeamSpeak? Users have been constantly waiting for something fresh and new, something that could surpass the competing purple application.
To be honest, I have given up on the development and future updates of TeamSpeak. It’s highly unusual that users have to rely on other users for help on forums. The fact is, development has been paused—more than a year has passed since the last update—and the team remains silent, likely to avoid shattering users’ hope with the reality of the situation.
Last month, we shut down one of the biggest Slovenian TeamSpeak servers. It’s pointless to convince users to keep using TeamSpeak when development has stalled and nothing is happening. This isn’t just about features like screen sharing and video calls; TeamSpeak 5 needs a complete redesign of its UI, an improved user experience, new mobile apps, and many features that are still missing. At its core, TS5 feels like a re-skinned TS3 with even less functionality.
I know I may have been persistent in reaching out to the staff, but I only wanted the best for this program. Unfortunately, I was mostly ignored, and it seems like they’re unwilling to share what’s really happening behind the scenes because doing so might destroy any remaining hope.
This will be my last post about this. It’s truly sad to see this happening to such a well-known brand. I’m done.
It’s really not easy and in no way to be credited for how Teamspeak deals with the community when it comes to giving feedback on future updates and developments. I really hope this will change for the better next year. Because a lot happens behind the scenes, but the normal user doesn’t get to see any of it.
Maybe they return a banger and completely overhaul Teamspeak (which i highly doubt) or anything else would be really disappointing. They’re not even able to bring in all features in the TS5 client which they already got in TS3.
Not updating a software over 1 year isn’t that promising.
Beside that, maybe it’s sometimes better to call it a day, was fun while it lasted…
When my knowledge about ppl is even barely right: If they don’t make it like completely new, more and more ppl will leave.
Honestly like mentionend earlier, they should bring back NPL licenses (maybe not 512 users and 10 server but like 3 server and a total of 96 users or so.)
Bring in an ability to rent a server directly through the client (user friendly). Make cooperations with distributors, where ppl then can select where they want to rent.
I wish I could give you all more than what I have already shared in this thread, but unfortunately, my hands are tied.
I can only repeat myself at this point. We are making great progress with screen sharing, and we’re working on many other things as well. While I can’t share any details at this moment, please trust me that the time will come when we’ll be able to reveal everything we’ve been working on.
As I have mentioned before, I completely understand the frustration felt by everyone in the community due to our communication and the lack of updates. I was in the same position not too long ago. However, one thing I realized early on when I started working here is that things are much more complicated than they appear from the outside.
Please believe me when I say that I read every single comment that I can find across all our social media channels and even our teamspeak group chats, whether the comments are good or bad and sometimes inhumane. Your thoughts, feedback, and concerns are being seen and heard. I promise you that.
Once again, I would like to clarify that development has NOT been stopped or paused, as often claimed in this thread.
(Also, as a personal note, please take our social media channels with a grain of salt. Don’t take everything too seriously, as these posts are meant for entertainment only and are just memes)
Thanks for taking the time to leave a reply. I completely understand that you’re unable to share more details at this point, but honestly, a message like this can go a long way in keeping hope alive for future updates.
I think many in the community would really appreciate it if, every now and then, there’s a small update on the development or the current state of TeamSpeak. Even just a tiny sneak peek of what’s coming up could make a big difference in maintaining excitement and trust within the community.
Thanks again for the transparency, and keep up the great work!
