TeamSpeak 5 stuck on empty screen - "could not bind :: port 0 error codesystem:10049"

Hello!

A friend of mine is having a problem with TeamSpeak. Every time he tries to connect to a server, the client is on an empty screen, stopped, and nothing happens. Closing the tab and trying to connect again doesn’t work. We also tried deleting the TeamSpeak folders in appdata and even reinstalling the client, but that didn’t work either.

The ts5client.log showed the following errors. It’s very similar to this error, but unlike reported there, the problem is not solved just by closing the tab and connecting again.

[2023-07-24 19:06:39.727] [error] could not bind :: port 0 error codesystem:10049 bind: O endereço solicitado não é válido no contexto [system:10049 at C:\.conan\b85d59\1\include\boost\asio\detail\win_iocp_socket_service.hpp:244:5 in function 'bind']

Thank you

When searching on Google for this error it means that an IP binding on own Device or Network is wrong or bound to an IP that doesn’t exist.

In that case IPV6 :: with port 0 is bound or rooted to somehow.

I can’t offer any solution for this (not a problem with our software).
Let your friend check all of his network settings and update his drivers, turn off pihole or other related tools etc.

Sure. We reset Windows network settings to default (Settings > Network and Internet > Status > Network reset > Reset now) and it worked. Thanks!

The problem reoccurred, and we found the cause to be Nord VPN - if it’s open and active, TeamSpeak repeats the previously reported behavior; if it is closed, TeamSpeak works without problems.

We are glad that you found the cause, but you are asking the wrong company.

We only read what the operation system gives us to work with. And whatever the network device is set to is wrong. This is the only thing we from our position can tell.
