TeamSpeak 6 Server Licensing

Hello,

Could you please provide information regarding the licensing of TS6 server? Specifically, will it be possible to use a TeamSpeak 3 Server NPL license with TeamSpeak 6? Additionally, will a fresh installation be required, or will there be an option to upgrade an existing TeamSpeak 3 server?

Thank you .

I believe the NPL license is outdated and should be discontinued as of January 1, 2026, as it no longer fits the current landscape.

Teamspeak should instead adopt a sponsor license model, while maintaining a focus on realistic usage. Rather than providing a flat 512 slots like the current NPL, the system could work like this:
For example, if a server consistently has around 160 users, Teamspeak could sponsor a 256-slot license.

Hi,

I have been hosting my TeamSpeak server for over 10 years. As I understand it, the NPL (Non-Profit License) remains valid as long as it is re-evaluated and server is online.

If the virtual server(s) remain active within 30 days before the expiration date, the NPL will automatically renew for another six (6) months. However, if the virtual server(s) become inactive, the NPL will permanently expire. Since this license is no longer being offered, it is important to ensure continued usage to maintain its validity.

So I guess my questions are valid.
