TeamSpeak 6 Stream Crash on Arch-based distros

When streaming on Arch (tested on X11 and Wayland) or Endeavor (tested on X11 and Wayland) on both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs and on both Intel and AMD CPUs (i think test coverage is okay) the stream crashed around 1min into the stream (tested with both windows and linux viewers) on 4 different PCs

What happens: TeamSpeak silent freezes and then crashes in the background

Attached all logs, even if just the ts5client log seems relevant

I can confirm that this behaviour is consistent across sessions and versions upto the latest released version. Same goes for the server version which is the newest released version.

I checked the attached logs. It seems you clicked the ā€˜Restartā€™ button to update the application during streaming and that closed the client (to update). So I donā€™t see any crash from these logs. An actual crashdump would be good to determine what happened in the moment it crashed.

I did not press anything in TeamSpeak (wasnā€™t even selecting the application) and it just froze in the background - instead of waiting a minute or two for the frozen program to terminate, I closed the application manually using kill. (the problem is the freeze, not the close). This is the log when I didnā€™t even notice the close (terminated automatically)

way I got the logs:
cd ~/.cache/TeamSpeak/Default/logs
rm -rf *

  • started TeamSpeak
  • joined server
  • started stream

wait for crash
uploaded all files now in ~/.cache/TeamSpeak/Default/logs

If the logs look like I pressed ā€œRestartā€, they seem to be flawed / not ideal for diagnosing this bugā€¦ I do volunteer to test this further if you want to send me a version with a couple of ā€œworks hereā€ prints (assume you know how to reach me - Jan_willi@myteamspeak.com)

Thats helpful actually, it means a crash dump has been written somewhere. Getting this dump (zstd compressed) would be great.

Unsure if thatā€™s the correct format, but i did

coredumpctl dump 44677 --output=/tmp/teamspeak-44677.core
and then zstd teamspeak-44677.core -o teamspeak-dump.dmp
