USING TEAMSPEAK FOR ARMA 3 COMMUNICATION.
TFAR Bug: People cannot hear me, but I hear them & Vice versa.
It is not my Microphone causing the problem. I know how to change inputs, set system defaults, etc.
The error occurs for both myself and others in varying ways as follows:
- I can hear others, but they cannot hear me.
- I can hear others, but they cannot hear me in proximity chat. If I use a Radio, they can hear me over the radio but not proximity.
- Others can SEE my overhead indicator & even my character’s mouth movements as if I am talking when I really am talking, but they cannot actually hear my voice.
- After death, being rendered unconscious, or tabbing out, these errors reoccur.
During these bugs it is very consistent that my overhead indicator tells others i am speaking, but they do not hear my voice. The teamspeak application relays this too, my bubble for voice activity reacts precisely with my voice & shows when input is made.
The only temporary fix I have found is to fiddle with my mic input, apply random changes, or outright reconnect to the Teamspeak server which I am in. None of these work in any particular order & I cannot tell what solves the issue. But it doesn’t matter because none of these ever solve the issue permanently, not even for the duration of the session.
I am using Teamspeak 3.6.0 on the Teamspeak 3 client.
I am Using TFAR as an addon to ts3, along with JLTS The Great war, & CBA_A3 as it’s dependencies.
I am using a Logitech Headset w/ mic which has great quality. Voicemod is used as the microphone technically, which is system defaulted & correctly recognized by teamspeak 3. A few months ago I rarely encountered these kind of errors while using the exact same setup. Additionally, Voicemod encounters no errors on any other applications which use the system default microphone.
I do not have any noise suppression enabled nor use voice changers.
If any other information is needed please reply, this is making my Arma 3 unit thoroughly unplayable because I cannot communicate with my squadron, & it is endlessly infuriating. I don’t understand why Teamspeak 3 cannot just function properly & what is causing such a catastrophic issue as to make it fail every 10 minutes.
