I mainly built my thought process on the fact that TS GmbH is a small company, so they would need either a very patient investor, or they would need to do an IPO, which would mean having target profits and, in that case, “enshittification” is going to happen no matter what.
Hi everyone,
Do we have any news of any sort on if and when the TS6 server files for self hosting will be available?
I completely understand that TS6 is still in beta and in development and that a stable version cannot be provided with the flick of a hand. But can we please get at least any update on a vague time window? Will we be waiting for one more month? Or three more decades? Can we narrow it down just a BIT?
I also very much understand the monetary aspect and that the TS hosted communities must have been a massive income boost for TS. I’m willing to pay for a (perpetual) license if that is, what is needed. 100$ seems fair, compared to other software nowadays.
Can we please get any feedback whatsoever?
Currently there isn’t any information I can provide. Once we have information to share we’ll make an announcement.
discord gives me too many bugs of all kinds and I just created a teamspeak server. but I still can’t figure out how to share my screen. can someone give me directions please.
The TS6 server files that are required to utilize screen share are not yet available for self hosting at this time. This will be coming out for users to self host in the near future, however there are other ways to try it out.
You can currently use screen share via Peer-to-Peer in Group & Private Chats, and also on our Official Community Servers which you can find on the dashboard in the new client.
Another option is to host a TeamSpeak Communitiy, which is our hosted solution.
thank you for your response
Hello. Where i can find instructions for install Teamspeak 6 Server on Debian11? For not pro users please)
There are no files to install yet.
TeamSpeak 6 Server Files
- We have heard many concerns about self-hosting and whether we will move away from it with the introduction of Communities. We can assure everyone that this is not the case. Self-hosting is a core feature of TeamSpeak, and our intention is to provide the full TS6 experience, which includes screen-sharing, in the near future. We are still fine-tuning and actively working on the TS6 Server to ensure the best possible experience for everyone. We appreciate your patience as we prepare the server files for release.
This does not seem to be true. There is no option anywhere to start a screen share unless you are on a TS6 Server.
I’m in a private chat with someone and we can not find an option to screen share.
It is the private chat over myTS and not the server itself. It is located in the left sidebar.
What you see, you see because he does not use the TS6 client or you are not friends. He must also be on the TS6 client and you must be friends (contacts).
Ah ok, that was the magic sauce. You have to be friends to see it. Thanks
How long do we still need to wait? In January you posted memes and stuff about how to delete Discord Account and yet you are still not realeasing server files
This is Teamspeak we’re talking about. The most likely timeframe is probably between ‘5 years’ and ‘never’.
I think they can just release the server file. Even if there are problems, it doesn’t matter. It’s a beta version anyway, and users can directly act as testers, killing two birds with one stone ¯_(ツ)_/¯
They release memes, not server binaries
It is insane that the Server Files are not public already.
And they don’t say when or why or anything…
I feel like teamspeak is dying and the cause are they themselves.
Can we get at least an update?
