Because you’re still deploying the “old” TeamSpeak 3 server files. We don’t have access to newer files right now and there are no news about it.
Hopefully they don’t force us to buy a community to use these features…
Thanks for that fast answer!
Correct me if im wrong
New Screen / Camera sharing functionality wont work untill TeamSpeak team releases an update for server side TeamSpeak 6?
And now we can pull only TeamSpeak 3 server version?
Is there anyone who understands a bit about either TS6 itself or just how screensharing over the net works that could answer me if it would even make sense/work for local hosted servers to actually have screenshare?
Right now only “official” servers have the option for screen sharing, that’s because they have the new server files. We need to wait and hope to be released.
It would make perfect sense. A server is just a computer. So if you host the TS6 server on your/dedicated computer, you will have the same functionality as the official servers, but you own the hardware and don’t have to pay anything. That is, if TS team decides to release the server executable.
Not for sure. They can only offer new features like screen sharing on paid they hosted servers. We hope they release the new server files. To be honest, I’m very hopeful because TeamSpeak has always been open, transparent, and almost open-source towards the community.
thats propably beeing asked a lot but i couldn´t find anything recent: When will we be able to host a TS5 (or is it TS6 now looking at the Version number) Server on our own?
Without this feature it´s pretty pointless for me and my friends to upgrade to the new Client, as long as we can´t upgrade our old TS3 Server.
Agreed, no point to switching from Discord, if screen / camera sharing is Free there
And here we need to pay for this very basic feature
Even if we were ready to pay, its very difficult for us because we come from Russia and VISA / Mastercards dont work here.
Btw discord is blocked here too
I genuinely appreciate the update, but once again, TeamSpeak falls short when it comes to providing clear release information. After an entire year without updates, we’re suddenly surprised with a massive set of new features—which, to be fair, I really like. However, there’s still no clarity on whether the screensharing feature will be available for privately hosted servers.
It’s also frustrating to see TeamSpeak staff actively moving posts around, clearly reading everything, yet choosing to remain silent on important questions. I honestly don’t understand this approach.
