TS6 Server BETA - v6.0.0-beta7

Hey everyone! :waving_hand:

We’re rolling out a new TeamSpeak 6 Server Beta Update. With this release, the S3-based File Transfer Test Phase officially begins, and the default license has been updated to expire on February 1, 2026. This means you won’t have to worry about the server license expiring during the holidays! :snowman:

This version includes several important fixes and improvements to stability, accounting, and file handling.

You can get the latest server release here:
– GitHub: Release v6.0.0-beta7 · teamspeak/teamspeak6-server
– Docker Hub: Release v6.0.0-beta7 · teamspeaksystems/teamspeak6-server

We’ll also be providing configurations in the coming days on our GitHub page.

:sparkles: What’s New

  • Fixed local caching of report information
  • Fixed Local-Accounting issues

  • As always, feedback is welcome here. Please note that issues unrelated to this update should be discussed in their own dedicated threads.
  • We encourage you to share your suggestions for future releases in the appropriate threads within the suggestions and feedback area, rather than in the release thread. This is because update posts are typically closed after some time, and suggestions or feature requests may get overlooked.

Hey,
Is there any option to migrate config from ts3 server?

Not at this time, as mentioned on the GitHub page:

Limitations: Please note that TeamSpeak 3 Server licenses are not compatible with TeamSpeak 6 Servers, and currently, there is no migration path available between the two versions.

How do i configure s3 support? I can’t find anything on github

nvm i missed the “We’ll also be providing configurations in the coming days on our GitHub page.”

Hey, what are the next/nearest updates planned? Do you have an ETA for it?

Dear Teamspeak team,

The two most important features you need to add to the Teamspeak server structure are screen sharing and camera support. These are the two main features that could make Teamspeak as popular as it was in the Teamspeak 3 era.

You need to keep pace with evolving and changing technology. Saying that you are trying to do this with your small team is not an excuse. In addition to your small team, you have tens of thousands of users like me who have been using and supporting you for over 10 years.

Today, the greatest power behind a programme’s popularity is its community and its win-win model. You should introduce a reseller system and a licensing model that allows organisations to sell Teamspeak (like ATHP). You can grow your team with the revenue you generate. You can take the following critical steps and this job will be done

Mainly:

Teamspeak web

Teamspeak mobile

Teamspeak chat (advanced between users)

Teamspeak API support (e.g. Slack, Telegram, Discord, etc. Software developers can create AI-powered plugins and bots)

Remember this. There are Teamspeak users all over the world. You cannot meet their needs by just selling servers yourself, and this is not sustainable. No user will accept voice communication with 30, 50, 100, or 150ms latency due to your imposed location. No one will return to using Teamspeak or switch from Teamspeak 3 until the server with screen sharing and camera features is available and the licensing model is clear.

TS6 supports screen sharing.

@SYOX I don’t know where to find it atm but is there a full license document?

It’s in the servers docker container under /opt/tsserver/LICENSE or on the TeamSpeak website under Privacy & Terms | TeamSpeak

I don’t have any information to share at the moment, regarding either the client or server.

Hey guys from teamspeak.

Congrats for that release! I am happy to see that you extend the beta license for hosting a beta server. So do i get this right if i will setup a test server with ts6, it will run longer than the last 2 month period i saw?
I think you convinced me again to start my new project and rely on TS6 for this again but other big player software. I really want to contribute for this again and you’re doing a great job!

Do you guys have something like a roadmap or can we think about another “major update” within the next 6 months? Would be a shame to shut down the beta test server between friends again.

Do you guys have a “Send me a coffee” or anything like that?

Keep up the great work, i am diving in. Greetings from Switzerland.

Hey @gerpixelflo, appreciate the nice message!

There are no plans at the moment to provide a roadmap for the teamspeak client or server, and I’m not sure if we will have one in the near future, to be honest. We extended the license duration with v7 due to the holidays, so nobody will have to worry about missing an update and their server shutting down due to the license expiring.

We don’t have any donation pages where you can send us money directly. The best way to financially support us is by buying a server license, a community subscription, or renting a server via one of our ATHPs.

Another way to help us is by simply becoming an active user of TeamSpeak, participating in the Community and Forum, and generally spreading the word about the platform and getting your friends to use it!

Any chance for an update regarding GPU HW for streaming? Is there a chance we could see it somewhere in 2026?

Its released for over a week now:

First of all, thank you very much for the update. Regarding the support for veterans, has anything been decided yet? If not, can we expect something later this year?

Cheers

I’m interested in this question. Are new licenses available yet?

@SYOX and Team

I just wanted to say “Thank you!”. Thanks to the already solid state of TS6, I have finally managed to get my friends (and some of their friends) away from the horrible data leech called Diso**. So I am happy to report that we now have 10-12 very satisfied (and new) TS6 users here. My self-hosted server is running extremely stable for the current state of development, and with enough resources, screen sharing is already a lot of fun – everyone is really excited about the state-of-the-art UI design and the screen sharing features. With all the negative-sounding criticism in this forum: don’t let it get you down! Give us the planned stream via the server (without P2P connection) in a foreseeable future and make file uploads in chat (especially for images and videos) a little more easy and intuitive, and you will have loyal users in our group for a long time to come!
