TS6 Volume muted when games are main focus of Windows 11

Okay, I tried Windows 11 Fullscreen - Windowed and regular not Windowed mode.

If I bring TS to the front or minimize the game everyone in the server gets very loud, when it is in the background, I have to max out the volume levels in TS to properly hear anyone.

Now this is for regular chatting, others have also reported the same in both TS3 and TS6 beta, that they have everyone maxed out.

Can we add an option to disable this feature? Is this a Windows 10/11 feature/function, if so is there a known solution.

Now we do have two players who tend to scream like howler monkeys when startled (killed unexpectedly in game), and that is still loud… but we can’t go around yelling into our mics all day.

Again, all levels are maxed on the computer side and in TS. Any assistance or patches will be greatly appreciated… 20 year user of TS with TS2.

This should be a Windows problem and not teamspeak.

Go into sound settings → device properties (the device you use for sound) → additional device properties → Advanced tab and uncheck “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device”

That might be it. Also in sound settings, go to Communication and check “do nothing”.

I will admit I’m “guessing” a little from memory here as I don’t use windows that much anymore, but I remeber it being a problem in these situations.

Of Course you complain about something after dealing with it for a long time, and it doesn’t do the issue anymore.

There was a recent Windows 11 update for October.

I did check and disabled the “Exclusive Mode” options as you suggested (after I was already done using TeamSpeak.)

I will test tomorrow, but my volume was lower than normal, and I could hear well with no changes being made.

Alternatively, I did get a weird message about Bonjour driver due to TPM security issue.

Installing a new ASUS Bios update 327 “Improvements to overall system responsiveness”!

Testing more to confirm… thank you for respnse!

Yeah I get that. Sometimes various sound settings in windows, headset firmware (like logitech g hub etc) and voice applications (teamspeak, discord, mumble) can create weird problems like this.

But most often it’s either windows or the headset firmware that’s causing it since voice applications mainly control themselves where the two other have settings to control sound for applications running.

We’re you able to find a solution to this problem? My friends and I are running a TS6 beta server right now and are having similar problems with audio levels changing drastically depending on what is going on. Let me know! Thank you

No, but I’m wondering if it could do with GHub. I was having issues with Ghub not setting mouse settings. Would have to quit and relaunch GHub to fix mouse.

Using Logitech G533 wireless headset, could be a per app setting. But really annoying when game crashes or you exit.. sound level increases greatly.

Another issue we have been getting is packet loss, random people experience, where when maps are loading or exiting someone will have sound issues (robotic or choppy voice).

I’ve done speed, packet and ping tests and all seems fine with my connection. But not sure if it’s app related or TeamSpeak server related.

I will test with my wired Turtle Beach headset… not sure why I haven’t tried it yet. :man_facepalming:

But if I don’t exit the game or have someone talking while gane is minimized, it’s hard to test.
