Hello everyone,
I’m having trouble adding a friend on TeamSpeak, and I’ve already tried several solutions without success. Here are the details of my issue and the steps I’ve already taken:
- Description of the Problem:
When I try to add a friend to my friend list, the action fails without a clear error message. I have their UID (unique identifier), but nothing happens.
- Solutions Already Tried:
- Verified my friend’s UID.
- Restarted TeamSpeak.
- Updated TeamSpeak to the latest version.
- Checked my friend’s privacy settings.
- Additional Information:
- TeamSpeak Version: 6.0.0-beta2
Do you have any additional suggestions to resolve this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Best regards

You need to add the user with their myTS username and not their UID. So in this case it is the name in the bottom left corner.

Hello,
Thank you for your suggestion. However, I’ve already tried adding the user using their myTS username (the name in the bottom left corner) instead of their UID, and it still doesn’t work.
Do you have any other ideas or solutions that could help me resolve this issue?
Thank you for your support!
Error code 3 means that the person does not exist
Does it work with other Contacts? Can they send you a Contact request? Do Group Chats work for both of you?

My friend is getting the same error code (Error 3) when trying to add me. We’ve both tried sending contact requests to each other, but it doesn’t work. Group chats also don’t seem to function properly for us.
I was wondering if the issue could be related to the version of TeamSpeak we’re using. I recently downloaded the latest major update to retry TeamSpeak after several years, but is it possible that my friend is using an older version that might cause compatibility issues?
Looking forward to your insights.
Thanks!
