Volume is low only when JOIN

hello,
I’m currently having the following problem.
I have a TS3 server running 24/7 and am currently experiencing the following symptoms.
・When a specific friend joins, the volume is so low that you can hardly hear it at first, and the volume increases over about 30 seconds.
・Some friends have symptoms and others don’t.
・People who have problems are decided.
・My friends are joining the server, they are talking at normal volume, and when I join the TS3 client, the volume of all the friends joining is low only at the beginning as described above. Become.
・When I join the TS3 client, my voice is heard louder from the beginning on the friend side who has already joined.
The situation is quite complicated, so I summarized it in the figure.
Please give me information to solve the problem.
thank you.

What you describe here is AGC (Automatic Gain Control).
From any new user it needs to get the volume to adjust it to a level that matches your volume settings and other users in the room.
This process can take time.

Your option is to turn it off in the playback settings, but then these users will be low all the time.

Ps.
I don’t get what the combination of all the tables with content in same line mean.

Hello,

The situation is different for each user and we use aliases for clarity
User 1 is “Me”
User 2 is “Alex”
User 3 is “Bill”.
Then I tested it with each user.

●Results verified by User 1 (Me) Side
When Alex and Bill are connected to the server and Me connects to the server
Alex’s volume gradually increases over a period of about 30 seconds from a barely audible level.
Bill’s volume is normal from the time of connection.

When only Alex is connected to the server and Me connects to the server
Alex’s volume gradually increases over a period of about 30 seconds from a barely audible level.

When the building is newly connected in the above state
Bill’s volume is normal from the time of connection.

When only Bill is connected to the server and Me connects to the server
Bill’s volume is normal from the time of connection.

When Alex is newly connected in the above state
It gradually increases over about 30 seconds from a barely audible level.

●Results verified by User 2 “Alex” Side
When Me and Bill are connected to the server and Alex connects to the server
The volume of Me and Bill is normal from the time of connection.

When only Me is connected to the server and Alex connects to the server
The volume of Me is normal from the time of connection.

When the building is newly connected in the above state
The volume is normal from the time Bill connects.

When only Bill is connected to the server and Alex connects to the server
The volume is normal from the time Bill connects.

When Me is newly connected in the above state
The volume of Me is normal from the time of connection.

● Result of verification from the User 3 “Bill” side
When Me and Alex are connected to the server and Bill connects to the server
Alex’s volume gradually increases over a period of about 30 seconds from a barely audible level.
The volume of Me is normal from the time of connection.

When only Alex is connected to the server and Bill connects to the server
Alex’s volume gradually increases over a period of about 30 seconds from a barely audible level.

When Me is newly connected in the above state
The volume of Me is normal from the time of connection.

When only Me is connected to the server and Alex connects to the server
The volume of Me is normal from the time of connection.

When Alex is newly connected in the above state
Alex’s volume gradually increases over a period of about 30 seconds from a barely audible level.

From the above verification results, it can be inferred that AGC is working only for user 2 (Alex), but is it possible to set AGC for each user?
If possible, is it server side? client side?
Or do you need settings for both?
thank you.

  • AGC can differ when you or your friends have different devices and volume set for microphone, speaker/headset in the driver or operation system and playback volume in client playback profile.

    • It also can differ when you are on latest client 3.6.0 and your friends use 3.5.6 or older versions.
    • These ~30 seconds may be an indicator of older clients where AGC is still in capture side (it was moved to playback in client 3.5.6). It took ~30 seconds to reach final volume (in capture side).

So we have a lot factors here that may cause this.

  • AGC can not be set for individuals. It can be activated or deactivated in client side and is server independent.

hello,

I remotely checked the device configuration of the user in question, but there was no special environment.
Also, in order to make it easier to understand this time, we verified with 3 users, but in reality, 3 out of 10 users have the same symptoms.
The client version for each user is identical at 3.6.0.
For user 2 in question, I remotely did a clean uninstall of TS3 and then installed 3.6.0 to test and it didn’t fix the problem.

thank you.
