I guess it will take as long as the Name Change thing
Jokes aside, I think it will take 2 months
I feel like they’ll probably release a server slight sooner, or at least that if it does take 2 months the first server release will be a beta for feedback, and not the polished product.
Just a gambler, what do I know (/j im a prophet!)
I also believe one to two months, and then they are out; but the most important question is whether you can simply update your TS3 server or you have to start again and setup everything, channel, groups, etc.
Take a backup of the server and overwrite the existing server files with the new files.
The real question is; will they share server files? Or will screen sharing be a paid feature?
I don’t think it was ever a question but here, I don’t even know why people jumped to this conclusion that its behind paywall or no server files, because of other company practices ?:
Isn’t it possible that they’ll change their mind? Discord has done this kind of thing before.
Well, easier said than done… who knows how it will turn out since it might be a completely different system, like updating from TS2 to TS3, for example.
I mean to be honest, I’m not at all against paywalled features. A company needs to make money, just like every other company does.
I’ve been using Discord Nitro for more than two years now and I like it a lot. I’m pretty sure people won’t have any trouble paying if TS does something similar and it’s cheaper or works better.
And yeah, hope just for easy update without having to start over.
2 months for communities to get back online would be unnacceptable.
We are already paying for a feature that is currently offline. They would need to refund everyone that already bought a sub.
