- I would like to know whether TS6 will support individual subscriptions or whether I can only purchase TS6 services from resellers.
- Will it support migration from TS3 to TS6? For servers with many channel, manual reconstruction is too cumbersome, and data such as icons also hope to be preserved normally. It would be great if there is a supported migration method.
So i recently got on some cheap Servers from a Logistics company when they went for a upgrade and i thought i might try the TS 6 Server beta on one of them. However ive seen it uses it own licence and it says there is “currently” no migration path for this.
Does that mean there will be eventually at some point? The reason Im asking since I use Teamspeak since TS2 and hosting my own TS 3 since beta im having one of the old NPL licences which kinda would be a step down ![]()
We are already working on a new way to acquire a TS6 license. Once it is ready to use we’ll let anyone know.
Everything in regards of migrating a license will be announced, once details are clear and finalized.
I would love to host a TS6 Server, but I don’t want to do it on my own (aka I look for a managed). So I still wait for reseller like we had before (4Players, G-Portal, nex and so on)…..and I hope that’s happening soon.
Thanks for the update though^^
hi,
today i played around with my friends that users since ages my ts3 server the new shine ts6 server because of streaming. I place just for fun my ts3server licensekey.dat in the ts6 server data folder. To my surprise the file was read but the server did not start because of a CRITICAL error, too bad. Would be great if we could have more then 32 people connected ![]()

If the server ever gets out of beta can I then use my licensekey.dat? I’m already happy to run the beta server fulltime but we would need more then 32 users. Looking forward to the SFU release that we do not have to use peer to peer streaming.
Cheers,
Gabbajoe
No, you can’t have any other than predefined license. There is no way to have larger server than 32 people with self-host version atm. If u need more people then buy a community server from Teamspeak directly.
why would I? Let hope that the beta will end soon and not take so long anymore.
Sure, you can live in hopes, but don’t be surprised when it will take longer than thought ![]()
